Hi, I’m just wondering using the data from simlink (moving maps) if you would in the future make a PFD feature (for Xbox as well )with this information that could look similar to a G1000/3000/5000 PFD
Thanks
I would like to support this feature request because I think it could become one of the most valuable additions for Xbox users.
The existing Navigraph integration already demonstrates that data can be sent from supported aircraft to the Navigraph app. The Moving Map feature proves that a communication path between the aircraft and a tablet already exists.
This made me wonder if the next logical step could be a read-only external PFD/MFD.
I’m not asking for a fully interactive Garmin display or the ability to control the aircraft from the tablet. A read-only display would already be an enormous improvement.
For example, it could display:
-
Artificial horizon (pitch and roll)
-
Airspeed
-
Altitude
-
Vertical speed
-
Heading/track
-
Autopilot annunciations
-
Engine information (if available)
For Xbox users this would be especially valuable because we don’t have access to SimConnect or the many external cockpit solutions that PC users already have.
Many of us enjoy building home cockpit setups. Being able to place a tablet where the real PFD would be would greatly improve immersion while also freeing up more screen space for the outside view.
Even if this were initially supported only on aircraft that already include the Navigraph Avionics Plugin (such as the FlightFX aircraft), it would already be a fantastic proof of concept.
I don’t know whether the current data connection already contains enough information for this, but if not, perhaps it could be expanded in the future.
I would definitely use this feature, and I believe many Xbox cockpit builders would as well.
Finally, I also think this could represent an interesting opportunity for Navigraph.
On PC there are already several external cockpit solutions available, but on Xbox there are virtually no alternatives due to the platform’s limitations.
By building on the existing Navigraph Avionics Plugin, Navigraph could become the first platform to offer high-quality external cockpit displays for Xbox users. I believe that would be a natural evolution of the Navigraph ecosystem and a feature that many home cockpit builders would appreciate.
