Simlink not working in Steam MSFS

Hi,
I didn’t use Simlink when flying with P3D I just accessed the charts from another networked PC but I thought with MSFS I’d give it a shot. I downloaded the Navdata Center and accepted all defaults. When I used the In-Game panel it informs that Simlink is not connected. Is this a problem with the Steam version of MSFS or is there something else going on.
I’m using MS 11 and the latest update to MSFS 1.27.2.1 (?)

Hi,
I downloaded this yesterday, hence the original comment. However I checked the TaskManager and saw it was already running when I turned on this morning. It might be it needs a full shut down rather that a restart to initiate properly (?). Anyway IT WORKS and could be a game changer for me.
