Simlink installation fails to install with P3Dv4.5

Windows 10/64, P3Dv4.5.
The flight following in my charts suddenly didn’t work anymore.
I get the message that Simlink is running.
When I try to update and reinstall I am asked to sign in.
When I do this the window cycles forever.
Can you please help?

Hi…,

I suggest a fresh start using exact procedure below :

Please disable any Antivirus and firewall. Uninstall AV if needed.

Please use only Windows Programs and Features to uninstall Simlink and Charts:

  • If they exist delete folders:
    c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Simlink
    c:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink
    c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Charts c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\Navigraph Charts
  • Download and install latest Charts .
  • Download and install latest Simlink .

Please restart system.

If still an issue, please post latest c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Simlink\logs\simlink_xxxx.dlog

Cheers
Ian

Hi Jan,

Thank you so much for your quick response, even at a weekend!

I told you about my “gymnastics”, i.e. I did everything you recommend before without solving my problem.

Now I found out, that I am dealing with the infamous “error 183”.

I hope it’s not my Navigraph installations which caused the problem.

Just to let you know, I have no problem to get into “navigraph.com” and I can open my charts.

What’s not working is the flight following in spite of getting the message that it is running.

It is stupid to do the same thing over again and expect a different result, but I will follow your advise and try a fresh start again.

If that doesn’t work I will try to restore my system from an earlier backup.

I will keep you posted.

Cheers

Uwe

Hi Ian,
“Error 183” is spreading across my machines.
Something fishy is going on.
Please close my post.
