I’m trying to setup a flight plan for the TBM930. When adding the payload (based on my Neofly mission) it refuses to accept anything higher than 636kg. This is well below the TBM’s max payload, so why does it not go any higher ?
Hi, 636 kg max payload matches all the sources I can find online. For example, this document from Daher:
Are you sure you weren’t looking at the max payload value in pounds perhaps?
Best regards,
It seems Neofly just has the wrong information, maybe a fudging of the numbers for “gameplay” sake.
In Neofly, the TBM 930 has a payload of 2825lbs. Because this isn’t realistic, Simbrief won’t allow me to add the weight.
For what it’s worth, SimBrief bases the maximum payload on the difference between the empty weight and the maximum zero fuel weight.
The maximum possible payload for an airframe is the one that results in the maximum zero fuel weight. It isn’t possible to enter a payload that will result in exceeding this value, since it’s a structural limitation.
Having said that, you can increase the amount of payload that SimBrief will allow by creating a custom airframe, and either reducing the empty weight, or increasing the maximum zero fuel weight.
Best regards,
