Pretty self-explanatory. The information is already available in the API (time_zone
endpoint from /v2/airports/
), just wish it was easy to see in Charts!
Hello! Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
It is not quite that simple, which is why it is not currently included. IIRC it was excluded last minute since the offset is not the whole truth, as some countries use DST for example. The timezone offset could be included as-is, of course, instead of showing the local time. But would that be helpful?
Great suggestion either way, and definitely something that we already have somewhere in our backlog, so it is a perfect opportunity to allow for some voting!
Would you like to vote for it yourself?
Kind Regards,
Malte
Hi Malte,
Thanks for the reply, great to hear from a dev! I understand that DST complicates things, but it appears that Simconnect exposes the simās date, so if you want to get really fancy, it could be set to whatever the UTC offset is as of the date in the sim, otherwise showing the current UTC offset.
That said, I donāt think Iāve ever flown in a sim-day thatās offset from the real day, so not accounting for DST isnāt a problem for me, and Iād be delighted just to easily see the current UTC offset. Iād be more than happy with āCurrent UTC Offset: +/- Xā listed under airport information.
And haha, sure I can vote! I didnāt realize I could vote for my own topicš
Thanks so much,
David
