The ability to see an overlay of real world air traffic flying whilst on the charts app to get an idea of what current routes are active for eg. ForeFlight offers this.

Like an api that takes our login for flightradar24 and can overlay using that account?
There is no such thing - FR24 does not allow third parties to consume their data without agreements.
There is a business subscription, but that does not cover using their internal APIs to extract live information - it just lets the subscriber use their website in a commercial context.
