Plane Pink Location Arrow Not Showing MSFS2024

It seems that I have lost the pink arrow indicating the plane’s current location. I have tried re-download the simlink and navigraph, but that didnt help.

Behavior: the sim is definitely connected the navigraph, since when I click the moving map icon, it will take me to the plane’s location, but the arrow is missing (it used to work fine)

Also, when I turned on the show ownership trail button, the trail is shown correctly, it is just that the arrow isn’t showing.

Any suggestion on how to fix this isssue? Or something I could try?

I just opened the navigraph app on my phone! It looks like it is showing on my phone too! Just my PC not working!

Hello,

Please ensure that you are Sign-In into the Navigraph Charts application with the same Navigraph user account that you use for Simlink.

Additionally, please send us some screenshots where the Moving Map is not displayed.

Thank you!

I am using the same navigraph user account, i only have one account.
I have just been pushed out, you can see the trail is there, but the pink arrow is missing.

Another one:

Does the aicraft icon appear correctly when using Charts Cloud ?

Ian

Unfortunately, no. No arrow on the charts cloud either. Snapshot as follow:

Any luck dear all?

Am I the only one have the issue? Why….

Please see No A/C icon in Moving Map.

Cheers
Ian

As per the thread, I have cleared my cache in chrome. It didnt seem to solve my problem. I have tried using Edge, but it does’t have the icon either.

As I am mainly using the desktop version of navigraph map, clearing the browser cache really help?

The last post says “I have done a full reset”, can you please tell me what is a full reset?

I have also tried to open cloud map in a different computer, it seems that the icon is missing too!

Please explain more!! Thank you

I have also done this, still no icon

Thanks. I have signed out and back in. This is happening right now as I am posting.

Many thanks

The log shows the Moving Map icon.

Do you have any Windows customised settings e.g. altered resolution, special graphics display, non default graphics device versions, non standard text size etc ?

Cheers
Ian

I did some investigation as you suggested. I am using a samsung odyssey g9 49 inch monitor, I used to set the font size to 130%(windows font size setting) as the monitor is wide, the text is too small for me to read. But as you suggested in the last post, I have adjusted the font size back to 100% and restarted the PC, I think I have also done some scaling adjustment in windows setting, and I also reverted back to default and restarted the PC. I have also disconnected all my other dual monitors setup. I now have one single HDMI cable connecting my 4090 card to the G9.
It seems the problem remain there. But I have noticed one interesting fact, when I did some zooming the navigraph map(both desktop version and the cloud version), I did see the pink icon appear, but it is clearly in the wrong position, and as I zoom in and out the map, the icon disappears and reappears. I have a screenshot:

The lower right corner I see the pink icon, but where i am really are is in the top right corner(runway 26 in ESSA), it seems it offsets vertically by some distance?? I am not sure. Maybe you can dig more on the log and give me some other suggestions on what I could possibly try??

Some more findings: I notices when I zoom out and in, the pink icon is proportionally vertically going down and up(by the looks of it, horizontal position is correct), but it is there, it looks like it is got something to do with the scaling??
The screenshot below shows the maximum zoom level I can go, maybe if I could continued zoom in, the icon will appear in the right place!?

My windows setting as follows:

Some more issues: I have noticed all my ILS attempts are failed to be captured(tried 3 times inibuild A350) in KLAX and LFPG. The LOC and GS are armed, PFD shows ILS frequency and everything correctly, it just never captured and flew pass.

I did try Fenix A320, that seems to work. But someone says Fenix is done differently to other planes.

At this point I am not sure whether ILS issue and the icon display issue are related(maybe navigraph thinks I am somewhere else so ILS not captured?)

I will do some more tests tonight. Any suggestions welcome.

Please please navigraph help me on this! It is getting frustrated!

You implied above that selecting Moving Map takes you correctly to the planes position, but the icon doesn’t display.

So I think any issues re ILS capture are independent and should be raised as a separate
thread.

We can’t replicate your missing icon issue so it is hard for us to resolve, other than we believe it is an issue on your system.

Hi Ian, thank you for your kind reply.

I umderstand that this might be an issue on my end, but over the weekend, as you suggested, I have tried to look into the problem in the hope that you guys can give me some more suggestions or might be some suspections as to how this could happen, like what you have said earlier, adjust font size etc.

After all, I did see some problem inside the navigraph app(both desktop and the cloud version), and this is indeed a navigraph product. Because, one I am not the developer of the product, I have no clue how your app works. Two, I have nothing I could do in my end to investigate the problem as I have no idea how the app communicate with the simulator, how does it handle that icon, how does it handle the scaling etc.

Maybe some suggestions are appricated rather than saying this is something wrong in my end and that you have nothing you could do about it? I think after all, you and me can’t deny that the problem exists in Navigraph pruduct, as all the screenshots suggest.

BY the way, when I open one single chart, say the ILS chart, I can see the icon shown correctly in the chart, but not on the map. Screenshot as follow:

I hope the information I provide(or some other information you need to provide) can give you, the developers of the team, some clue on what I might have set incorrectly on my side, even though it is not something wrong in your product.

I have uninstalled all navigraph products, the charts, simlink and hub. It seems the problem remain. I have also tried with MSFS 2020, the problem remain the same.

One other interesting fact, the in-game panel correctly shows the plane icon:

Many many thanks!!!
