Navigraph Charts In-Game Panel CTD's

Hi

I was having repeadly CTD’s in MSFS2020. I couldn’t see any reasons until I noticed it happen every time i was using Navigraph in game panel.
I for some weeks stop using it and used the external chart app. No CTD’s.
Today I just had to use the in game panel and immieaditly I had a CTD.

Not the absolute latest ver of Navigraph in game panel

Mats

Hi performace desktop, latest win updates and graph drivers
Minimum amount of add ons in the community folder

Hi…

Please update to the latest Charts In-Game Panel V 8.12 using Navigraph Hub

Do you still get the CTD’s.

Cheers
Ian

I did, crashing after the first click

I found out yesterday that that I never installed the latest version. (AddonLinker confusion). So I did so.
I then was able to perform 2 flights using the in game version without any problems except it behaved slow.
Today that took an end with a new CTD.

I don’t know if this can help

Can you check to see if this has any effect, the solution that worked for them is at the very bottom of the thread.

Not the reason for me as I have simbridge disabled and not running (checked)

Addon Linker may be contributing to the crash. Symbolic linking tools can sometimes cause conflicts with in-game panels if the add-on is not loaded exactly as expected by the simulator.

To help isolate the issue, please try the following:

  1. Close MSFS completely.
  2. Open Addon Linker and temporarily disable all add-ons except Navigraph.
  3. Alternatively, move the Navigraph Charts In-Game Panel out of Addon Linker and install it directly via Navigraph Hub into the default Community folder (without linking).
  4. Launch the simulator and test opening the Charts In-Game panel again.

Ian

Tried with app directly from Community folder with no references to Addon Linker
CTD after 2 clicks!
I would say, it’s time to search for the reason INSIDE your app.
If there is a log-file or something I can send, let me know.
FYI The external version has been running flawless for weeks.

I think this would be something for your testers to do honestly, it requires pretty much efforts from the user’s side.

Also, changing MSFS graphic and other surrounding apps configurations in order for this to work seem a bit exagurated and is something that few users would accept being worth to do.

Best wishes
Mats

Hi Mats,

Given the large number of In-Game Panel without issues, it is highly likely the issues are on your machine.

Try,

1. Disable Xbox Game Bar completely

Go to:

Settings → Gaming → Xbox Game Bar → OFF

Settings → Gaming → Captures → turn everything OFF

2. Kill background Game Bar processes

Open Task Manager → End:

  • Xbox Game Bar
  • Xbox Game Bar Widget
  • Xbox Game Monitoring

3. Test again with Navigraph panel

This isolates whether Game Bar was conflicting with the UI layer.

Ian

Here are others with in gamel panel CTD

And I noticed you used the same comment to one of the customers

”As there are no other reports, it is likely an issue on your machine.”

Well, this is an easy one,
1 none of the XBOX settings or processes has been active.
2 No Kill overlays (very common culprit) are active
3 Regarding memory, I have PLENTY of internal memory, never reaching its limits
4 GPU driver latest version installed

Hello,

Thank you for providing the details about your test result. It appears that there are some issues related to the operating system environment, which may include OS settings and certain graphics cache details for MSFS.

Please follow the steps below to correct the graphics cache for MSFS:

Clear the Shader Cache

Corrupt shaders often cause it to fail when it tries to draw displays.

NVIDIA: Go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache and delete the contents.
AMD: Open the Adrenalin software, go to Gaming > Graphics, and scroll down to Reset Shader Cache.

If you continue to experience the issue, please let us know.

Thank you!

Hi Vishal

Not all files in the DXCashe could be deleted
There is no Adrenaline software on my computer

Mats

Hello,

Adrenalin software is intended for AMD graphics cards. If you are using NVIDIA, please delete the DXCache. Before deleting the files, remember to close MSFS.

Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for providing the error details. It appears that there may be a UI issue with MSFS. Please check your graphics driver to ensure it is correctly installed and up to date.

If you continue to experience the issue after updating the graphics driver, please rename your existing community folder and restart MSFS. This will create a new community folder and download the necessary data for the game. Afterward, you can reinstall the Navigraph plugins.

Thank you!
