I’ve been troubleshooting Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for the past month due to persistent CTDs. After completely cleaning up my Community folder and re-adding add-ons one by one, I’ve isolated the issue:
whenever the Navigraph in-game panel 8.11 is installed, the simulator crashes consistently.
Once I removed and uninstalled the in-game panel, MSFS 2024 ran smoothly with no crashes. I’m not entirely sure whether the problem lies solely with the panel itself or with the SimBrief flight plan integration, but the correlation is very clear — crashes occur only when the Navigraph in-game panel is present.
Interestingly, in MSFS 2020, everything works perfectly — same setup, same add-ons, no stability issues.
This issue seems to have emerged about a month to a month and a half ago, when CTDs started appearing more frequently.
I’ve already contacted Microsoft, and they directed me to reach out to Navigraph.
Could you please investigate this? I’m happy to provide crash logs or additional diagnostic info if needed.
Yes there have been at least two nvidia drivers updates and two windows updates, but i’m not planning to rollback anything because all of the rest inc MSFS2020 works perfectly. The issue is really only on MSFS2024.
Install MSFS 2024 SU3.
Install navigraph hub and all related app (airac, navigraph in game panel, simbrief EFB, …)
I have already tested with an empty community folder and found out that using any aircraft (from legacy cessna 172 to Fenix A320) if I have the Navigraph in-game panel v8.11 app installed, my system crashes after an apparently random amount of time but between 15 and 30 minutes.
Did I answer?
You did mention that you loaded a flightplan using “the SimBrief integration”.
So, as far as I understand, that has nothing to do with the issue, then? You don’t need to do anything, just sit and wait, and it eventually crashes - with just the Navigraph panel (not EFB app) installed (closed, never opened) and nothing else?
This can’t be a Navigraph issue. If these steps had worked, the simulator would have crashed for a lot more people, myself included.
Did Microsoft help you with collecting a crash report from the simulator?
With the limited time that I can dedicate to troubleshooting, I first reached out to the MS team, shared all the required information, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned up the community folder and then re-added all of the needed integrations one by one until I found a crash, and that was in conjunction with Navigraph. Curiously enough on the same computer I have MS2020 with all of your addons installed and never had a problem with it.
