Moving Map Stutters in FS24 (PC)

Hello. I noticed heavy stutters and flickering when using the Moving Map. I tried it in the Fenix A320/A321 and the C172 with G1000. The Map is not usable to me at all. Simlink is running fine at the latest version.

I have the same issue as you. The maps in the g1000 are constantly flashing. I have syncronized the pc clock, but that didn’t help.

Hello! Thanks for the feedback.

This sounds like it would be related to this known simulator issue:

Do you agree?

Kind Regards,
Malte

Hello, and thanx for responding. Yes, I guess that this is a simulator issue, I just wanted to check with Navigraph to make sure this isn’t caused by something on my computer, or at Navigraph.
Sorry for posting in the wrong topi.
Regards Erik

No worries at all! It is a frustrating issue, and for some reason, it does not affect everyone…

Let’s hope that they resolve it soon!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Ok, so it is Sim related. Then i have to life with that until a patch come out. MS and Asobo still has a lot of work to do

Hello,

I concur with @skysail’s suggestion. To ensure the origin of the issue, please verify that the file in question is not from Simlink.

Inspect the MSFS 2024 community folder for any DLL files whose names begin with “NavigraphSimlink.” If such files exist, kindly delete them and repeat the verification process.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello @vishalahir and thank you for the advise. I will try it later an report back.

It’s working much better now, :+1: at least in the Garmin G1000. The only change I did was to install the latest Simbrief EFB App v1.0.0-beta.3
It showed up as not installed in the Navigraph Hub today. So I installed it, and the maps are working pretty good, a few flashes now and then, but I can finally use the maps in the G1000 again. :+1:
Still a lot of flashing in the Fenix A320 EFB though, when I go into the Navigraph map.

Unfurtanetly this didn’t helpt me. I also found the “EFB App” in Navigraph Hub and installed it, without any effect. Furthermore i searched the communityfolder for the mentioned .dll files → they aren’t there.

I did not find any of those .dll-files in the Community Folder either, but suddenly the moving maps in the G1000 was much better, with just a few flashes now and then. But I might just have gotten lucky. I will try again later today, and see if the maps still work. :+1:

The SimBrief EFB App is entirely unrelated to the flashing that can be seen in the YouTube video in the OP. Any difference in behavior is purely coincidental, unfortunately.

It’s great that the situation has improved for you, regardless! The issue remains in the simulator though, which is likely why you still get the issue in the Fenix.

There are none, sorry for the confusion!

Vishal’s recommendation would apply if you were using Navigraph Simlink - an external application unrelated to the avionics that are referenced in this topic. There was an initial confusion since this topic was posted in the Simlink/Moving Map category, but I have now moved it to the correct category!

Unfortunately, this flashing map issue seems to be unpredictable. Some users never see it, some get it all the time. And, of course, there are cases somewhere in between! We hope that Asobo will fix it as soon as possible, seeing that Navigraph maps are not the only ones affected.

Kind Regards,
Malte

Yes, I didn’t think that updating the Simbrief EFB app had anything to do with the map working, I just mentioned that it was the only change that I had done. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, this problem is about the moving map… did i somewhat missunderstood?

It is about a moving map, but not the Simlink-powered one specifically. That forum category is for issues related to the external application Navigraph Simlink and related features - none of which are in use in the scope of this topic.

Don’t worry! It can be hard to know exactly what category to put things in. We’re happy to help clear up any confusions - moving a topic is easy!

Kind Regards,
Mlate

Having this problem as well. It seems kind of random how bad the flickering is. Sometimes it works fine, other times it is epileptic. The “Day” versions seem to work better but that might also be RNG.

When it’s bad it is literally unusable :frowning:

Here is a video I made, which is interesting because it actually looks BETTER (IE less worse) in the video due to temporal compression than it does in actuality heh

Jeez… What a lightshow! Yeah, that definitely seems to be related to the aforementioned simulator bug, unfortunately.

My moving maps works perfect now, and I haven’t done anything to fix it. So this is kind of weird… :person_shrugging: Not even flickering when I had a flight yesterday. Just a stable map. :+1:

That is also nice to hear! We have not made any changes, so whatever is causing this is not within our control, unfortunately.

I don’t see any other devs reporting that this has been fixed for them, so it might just be down to “luck” (there is probably a technical factor, however it is unknown thus far.)

I’m speechless. Right now i’m flying with the C208 (G1000) and tried the enroutcharts again. By clicking around, i switched from day to night mode and the flickering is gone. Even when switching back to daymode the enroutechart is working perfect now.
