I also noticed that controller (atis) information is not present unless the controlled position is marked as ATIS.

Unfortunately, controllers do not have a standardized way of broadcasting CPDLC availability. As you can see, those texts are not “real” ATIS information.
Please elaborate on this. For IVAO, we always show ATIS if it is available. In that case, the ATIS is always tied to a specific controller (not a separate position).
For VATSIM, it is more common to see separate ATIS positions! We include all the real ATIS information, which I assume is what you are saying too!
What is shown in the screenshots in the OP is not ATIS - and we have decided not to include them for that very reason. We do see now that it sometimes contains useful information though, so we’ll have to think about how we can handle this!

Useful and mandatory to play with the PDC and CPDLC of popular planes (For me Toliss and Challenger).
The pics above are from VATprism, Vatastic also can display the aditional info as ATIS message.
