Ipad: Slide to left, to delete

Is the Navigraph app on iPad still in active development?

Long time since I used the app, but for iOS applications, on a sections such as the flight list; sliding left on any of the flights should bring up a delete option. Slide left to delete is a well established UX-feature on Apple’s multi-touch devices.

There’s an edit button right there and u can press it to easily select what to delete. I think slight left to delete is risky to add because it’s a large vertical list and scrolling up and down you might accidentally trigger the slide left to delete.

Slide left to delete is a two-step process:

  • slide left to “unhide” the delete button (which appears on the right)
  • press the (sometimes – often? – red-colored) button on the right to delete

Tim

Slide to left to unlock the delete options, i such a clear UX grammar - that not supporting it is like communicating that the entry cannot be deleted.

Yes, the star can be found when looking, but it’s a workaround that breaks the logic of the touch interface and you need to know it’s there to be able to delete an entry.

Yes, indeed. Very hard to do any error, it’s a brilliant but simple design. I even believe it was demonstrated on the very first prototype presentation of the iPhone with the audience in awe :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: (Steve Jobs removing one of his friends or an employee from his contact list :face_with_peeking_eye: )
