Hello! Welcome back to our forum! Apologies for the delay, it seems this topic went under our radar.
It is not a known issue, and unfortunately we can’t reproduce it. We tried using a Meta Quest 3, but clicking the panel worked fine.
Unfortunately, it is hard for us to help you further since we can’t reproduce the issue. Do you have any further details about your setup that could affect this situation? What VR headset are you using? Same questions for you @bakkerj1980 - all details would be much appreciated!
Hey there, i am using a HP Reverb g2 headset, and I experience this issue often during flight. Most of the time the window starts responding again after a while. But this is of course very unconvinient and breaks the immersion. I am not sure if it is a window problem in msfs2024 or caused by navigraph. Because VR in msfs is still not quite flawless yet.
Could any of you try reproducing the issue with a similar panel other than our Navigraph Charts panel? This way, we could perhaps get an insight into whether this is a simulator oddity or something unique to our panel.
We have very little control over the panel itself and are not doing anything special compared to other panels. Furthermore, we can’t reproduce the issue ourselves, so it is quite hard to trace the issue - let alone fix it.
charts EFB app does not work in VR in MSFS 2024
When I use All-In-one VR tablet with your app which is displayed inside of it (something you should btw make not a flimsy window like it is now) it works perfectly fine, no issues… but when I use the stand alone app that is when issues take place, no other panel seems to freeze… that is all reg MSFS 2024, no issues in 2020, maybe i install 2024 beta later see if it is still freezing up
Just wanted to add by freezing I do not mean it CTD or anything like that, just cannot click and again some parts are clickable some are not, very annoying, maybe if i have time over weekend i will record video
We did not develop this panel, and the developers did not receive explicit permission to include our app. This means I do not know what content you are referring to as a “flimsy window”—if you believe that we can do anything about it, please be more specific! Perhaps a quick video could help show what you mean?
That’s peculiar indeed! It sounds like SU1 is about to be released (if it hasn’t already been) - please let us know if anything changes with this update!
Asobo EFB in MSFS 2024 does not work in VR it is not clickable, except for the actual tablet which show in some default aircraft that works fine, but it is very tiny and pretty much unusable in VR, I am talking about EFB that you can bring out from top menu the big one that opens like a window same as what you have that does not work in VR in FS2024, asobo know and maybe will fix it one day
well you should develop something like that because it is superior to your window you can scale much better fonts are scaling much better as oppose to just window like you did for VR that refers to both 2020 and 2024
Could you elaborate on this? I might be misunderstanding, but it sounds like the official Asobo EFB has the same issue as our panel in your case?
I get that this looks easy enough from the outside, but due to technical reasons that is currently not the case. We do our best to propagate the scaling from the simulator down to our Charts product, but the context that we have access to is very limited at the moment. It’s all tradeoffs in the end, but as of this moment, it’s simply not technically possible for us to apply flawless scaling.
We have made several improvements to the scaling over time as we have received feedback. I haven’t seen such feedback in a long while though! If you feel strongly about it, please create a dedicated topic and describe your expectations, preferably with screenshots and/or descriptions of specific cases that we can try ourselves!
Their EFB does not work 100% of the time, they are aware of the problem and maybe will fix it one day.
While your in game panel is a hit and miss, sometimes it works sometimes it does not and clicking is not registered at times, all in fs2024 !
Look all i can tell you is that scaling using their All-In-One tables is flawless works magical , I can even click no problems when in FS2024, does not freeze as your panel does freeze in FS 2024 and becomes not clickable at times used stand alone.
When I use their tablet to view navigraph window everything works perfect, scaling is perfect click ability is perfect, no the case when using stand alone in game navigraph panel.
Don’t ask me why, i am not a developer I can just tell you how it works and it works perfect with their tablet.
so to summarize it in 2020 this tablet allows me to use your in game panel with great scaling far, far, far superior to what i get if i was to use stand alone window you provide ! yes it is so mych better it’s unbelievable ! https://youtu.be/2HUUeZWfgG4?si=dRpelMggSTfmr0ig&t=1020 17:00 minute time stamp
Tablet also works in 2024 and does not cause the freeze for clicking so I use it, I do not play much in 2024 has way to many issues for me, I do not fly default planes and it current state for VR leaves much to be desired. while I can fly for hours in 2020 with no issues it is not the case with 2024, anyways all other topic,
I simply revived this topic because i got mail that someone added comment “bakkerj1980” since i originally posted it in December nobody replied to it.
Anyways do what you will with it however I do not understand how can 3rd party software provide far superior experience in using YOUR own developed software vs using your software "in game panel"stand alone.
Keep in mind all my comments relate to using it in VR, I do not use either sim in 2D so if it works fine there that is not what I am talking about.
I just encountered the same issue, but however for me it also happened in the AllInOne tablet Navigraph page and the Navigraph ingame panel. Also only in VR and with the Pimax Crystal.
The scaling issues I see also in the AllInOne tablet (sometimes it opens with only a third of the screen shown in VR and can´t be resized properly). So I belive the scaling is a MSFS 2024 problem but the sometimes not clickable Navigraph panel I saw only with Navigraph (and the original 2024 EFB for sure).
yeah I haven’t played much in 2024 perhaps it also causes freezes of navigraph panel even when using All-In-One tablet and simply i didn’t use it enough.
2024 is all mess in VR especially when you want to use it to its full potential I suppose just doing missions and other game related activities is fine, but that is not my cup of tea.
Glad to see I am not the only one with the click ability issue with Navigraph panel in VR.
Sometimes I wonder if Pimax crystal might be causing some issues as there are quite a few with it in 2024, but I do not have other headset to test so there is that.
We’ll definitely have to look into this again to see if anything has changed since we last investigated this. There’s been a sim update since then, maybe things have changed! We only have a Meta Quest 3 at our disposal at the moment so if this is specific to the Pimax, we’d not be able to reproduce it unfortunately…
About 1-2 years ago there were several reports of different VR-related issues that all came from HP Reverb users, and nobody else ever had the same symptoms (including us). I believe those issues were fixed in a simulator update at some point, so there’s still hope in case this turns out to be a similar scenario!
We shall try to investigate this again soon! The team is preparing for FSWeekend at the moment, but we’ll try to do some new VR tests as soon as possible. We’d love to make the scaling work as well as possible too of course, but we don’t have a lot of resources available to look for workarounds at the moment. I think I mentioned it earlier, but we’d really appreciate if there was a dedicated topic with specific steps and screenshots to reproduce scale-related issues, as every setup is different!
Quick update: We have now tried this out using our Meta Quest 3, and we cannot reproduce any freezing or non-clickable issues.
Are you all still having this issue? The SU2 beta of the simulator currently breaks the panel completely, but once that is fixed (hopefully on Asobo’s side), please try again to see if the update affects this behavior!
In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye out in case it suddenly starts to happen for any of us! It’s really unfortunate that we can’t reproduce the issue, as we would love to help.
SU2 has now been updated, and the panel works correctly again. Please let me know if the issue persists even with this latest update! If you’re on the beta, that is.
