Hi folks,
I have asked before for the inclusion of enroute airport weather and NOTAMs - I was told that this was not done in RW OFPs even though the ones I’ve seen include this. Nevertheless, I am happy to concede this - but at the moment, especially doing long hauls in the 777, I find myself flying in areas of the world I’m not at all familiar with and seeking suitable alternates (which doesn’t just mean a runway that’s long enough, necessarily) and knowing where to go in the event of a malfunction is really difficult. Is there anything that can be done at the dispatch stage to plan suitable diversions along the route (non-ETOPS situation) to make this easier?
The only format that shows the enroute adequate airports is the UAL 2018 format.
I definitely support this. If I go on a medium-to-long haul, LFPG OMDB, for instance, I’d like SimBrief to suggest some enroute alternates like LOWW, LROP, LTFM etc. and include them together with their METAR’s and TAF’s in the briefing. I guess this is accurate as I’ve seen many operators accounting for enroute alternates in their OFP’s.
Currently, only one enroute alternate can be choosen manually.
One of the features I miss the most from PFPX! ![]()
This is still planned to be added at some point, but no ETA yet unfortunately.
Hi, just to follow up, this has now been added in version 2.36.0.
The Enroute Stations option is available at the bottom of the “Alternate Airports” section. Selected stations will appear both on the interactive map, as well as in the briefing package OFP weather/NOTAM sections.
Note that this function is disabled by default, however you can enable it for all future flights by selecting an “Enroute Stations” option and clicking the save icon:
Best regards,
