Hi team,
Any SID from EIDW using runway 28R is creating an incorrect waypoint at the start which means when you’re trying to arm LNAV, you can’t.
Please see attached screenshots.
Please can this be looked into?
Thanks,
James

Is there any update on this?
Hi,
sorry, I have overread it …
The DE28R is a overfly waypoint at the end of the runway and this waypoint is important to avoid the turn before.
The problem is, that the “first” waypoint before the right turn to 308° is a “course to altitude” leg (course 277 at/or above 650 feet). So, you may not turn before you have reached 650 feet but due the different climb rates of the a/c it could be possible that such turns starts in the middle of the runway. To avoid this, the a/c must overfly the DE28R waypoint and when the a/c has reached the 650 feet, the a/c can immediately make the turn, when not the a/c climbs to the 650 feet and make the turn later - the important point is, not before near of the end 28R.
So, this waypoint is only a “help” waypoint not to make the turn before even you have reached the 650 feet.
You can read this also on the charts - no turns before DER:
(DER = Departure End of Runway)
Hope that helps,
Richard
Hi @NAVDataOld,
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
Is there a chance the DE28R initial course (301 degrees) can be changed to the runway heading of 277? Looking at my company charts, and another chart source, they both comply with an initial 277 degree heading until 650ft before turning onto the 308 track towards the SID.
With the current heading of 301, LNAV cannot be armed before departure due to it not being on an intercept heading.
Thanks,
James
Hi James,
this leg is defined as “course 277 to fix DE28R”, not sure from where and how this initial course of 301 will be calculated - its not from us, or from our data . We don’t offer this course anywhere … again, we have 277 as course to DE28R.
Cheers
Richard
