Dynamically taking restricted areas into account

More and more vACCs are simulating active RSAs in their airspaces according to NOTAMs and the EUROCONTROL AUP/UUP. It would be great if Simbrief could take these areas into account when presenting flightplans to its users.

Kind regards

Hi,

Unlikely to come any time soon. It’s very complex to do this and it’s made much more difficult by the fact that Eurocontrol does not make their APIs available to the flight simulator community.

As always, users are encouraged to validate their flight plans manually using Eurocontrol’s IFPUV, but currently it isn’t possible for SimBrief to do this automatically for them.

Best regards,

Hi,

Does the free text validator actually take those into account though? That is something I never really thought of.

Anyway, on the network manager’s webpage, under “European AUP/UUP” you have free access to the activation times for the areas (RSA allocations) as well as which airways will be closed (ATS route and CDR type 1 closure) as a result.

Kind regards

Yes it does.

Been able to view the AUP/UUP is one thing, electronic public access may prove to be another.

WIP though,

But the EUROCONTROL license is simple:
‘‘The documents and data published here by EUROCONTROL may be copied in whole or in part, provided that EUROCONTROL is mentioned as the source and to the extend justified by non-commercial use (not for sale).’’
