I use Charts Desktop on a second monitor whilst flying MSFS 2020…now version 8.30.0
I would not be without this essential program for realistic operations
However there is one “facility” which for me is unnecessary and actually infuriating.
This is the “rotate map” function. It is too easy to invoke accidentally…usually at exactly the most inconvenient moment !.
I would be grateful if you could provide an inhibit switch (similar to that on the Map Tilt function ?) on a future update.

Please add this. Turning maps is an affront upon Mercator (or something), and it’s just too easy to screw up the view on mobile devices.
I would also very much like to see this feature. I accidentally rotate the map probably half the time when trying to zoom. Either that or make rotating it much less sensitive on touchscreen devices. I currently use a relatively slow Android tablet as my EFB so it’s extra annoying as it takes a couple seconds to reset the orientation. I also don’t think I’ve ever had the need for my map to be anything other than north up, so personally I have no need for rotating it in the first place.
I would also love to have this option. I use Charts on the latest iPad mini and I frequently end up rotating the map as I zoom in or out the program. I use ForeFlight when I fly in real life and I don’t believe they let you rotate the map freely apart from a track up or north up orientation. This would significantly reduce the hassle and difficulty of interacting with the map on a smaller screen without having to repeatedly reorient it to north up or the desired orientation.
Please please consider adding this! I use the app on an ipad and this is my one massive gripe about this. Go to zoom in only for the entire screen to go askew and then have to press the tiny north up button.
