AAU3 and Navigraph crash MSFS

I knew about this before I installed the update. So I removed all Navigraph stuff from my Community folder, then installed the update. After the update, I ran the sim with no problems. After all that, I moved all the Navigraph stuff back into the Community and ran the sim with no problems, and everything worked as expected.

Reason 9,999 that I don’t “install” anything into my community folder. I only use symbolic links and MSFS Addons Manager to manage them. I quickly “delete” my community folder the moment I see the update box (MSFS is not loading anything at that moment) and then continue the update. Test and add things back in one by one as needed for a particular flight. Bonus! My sim loads very quickly compared to those with bloated community folders.

I’m doing some tests, and I nearly found the offending file(or at least offending DLC), need to determine which WU it is, then which package is in fault (it’s either WU17 or WU18)

This is really sad. FS depends largely on third-part developers. They must recognize that FS alone is not a winner. Navdata and charts and planning tools are a must for many of us.

Ok, very interesting : a package in WU17 is causing the issue, now need to determine which one

Can confirm error is definitely in WU17 as rookieoneqc suggested. Removed this from content manager and reinstalled Navigraph and sim started so the issue is somewhere within this package.

See updated post below.

Well look like I found it, “Bush Trip - Scotland” is the package responsable. No idea what’s in it, but that’s the package in fault

Everyone remove that package if you want to use the sim with navigraph

same here of fall the things, this was quite surprising had to remove navagraph

Remove “Bush Trip - Scotland” through the content manager then reinstall navigraph.

You will be fine afterward

Dear Sirs,

I do not know where to report an issue raised today during this afternoon…

So, please be so kind as to excuse me…

Now:

  1. This morning I used the A320 FNX for a flight of 3 Hours.

  2. In the afternoon I loaded the MSFS and it was always crashing…

  3. I started to remove ONE BY ONE my Files from the Community Folder files…

  4. So, I arrived at the Folder that was causing those crashes.

  5. The Folder is “navigraph-navdata”.

  6. After repeating the process of removing/and inserting for several times, I can confirm that it is indeed that folder that is causing those crashes.

  7. Upon opening the Flytab of the A320, the funny thing is that it seems to be accessing your Navigraph Files…

  8. I visited your site and downloaded the usual files needed.

  9. I have uninstalled your programs & Installed again with these new downloads.

  10. The same issue is there,

  11. In order to be able to use the MSFS, that folder cannot be there in the Community Folder!!!

Could you please be so kind to help with this NAVIGRAPH never seen Issue??

Thanks In advance.

Best regards,

jc

This is the actual workaround! Let’s hope Asobo realizes there’s something up with it!

Uninstall Navigraph navdata, load MSFS, delete “Bush Trip - Scotland” through the content manager, then reinstall Navigraph navdata.

The issue is specifically with the “Bush Trip - Scotland” package

Post in the MSFS forum has provided the answer. It appears the Scotland Bush Trip which was part of World Update 17 is causing the issue. So, the current workaround is:

  1. Remove current AIRAC in Navigraph
  2. start the sim and go the Content Manager, remove Scotland Bush Trip
  3. close sim
  4. reinstall current AIRAC
  5. restart sim and you should be good to go. It worked for me.

This is unfair imho towards Navigraph. Microsoft pushed an update for a couple planes and broke stuff in what seems to be unrelated code.

Nothing changed on Navigraphs side.

Btw, Microsoft/asobo also accidentally removed all user submitted world hub airports. Clearly something went wrong on their side.

Worked “Bush Trip” uninstall thanks a lot

Thanks , I remove all bush trip work fine now.

I can also confirmed that removing the “Bush Trip Scotland”, the sim loads the data correctly - no CTD any longer during startup.

But I guess, that´s not the final solution because I have also two other devices with exactly the same sim content with the “Bush Trip Scotland” installed where I don´t have CTDs after removing the double SNFO entries.

So, I assume a combination of at least more than one issue …

Cheers,
Richard

Hi,

I’m still having issues launching MSFS even after uninstalling all Navigraph data! I’m not sure what to do next. Please help if possible.

It’s obvious the issue is with Microsoft but when a third party addon doesn’t work and prevents the programme from running then it’s either let the subscribers know that there is a problem rather that have the attitude of noting to do with us. With respect I think your missing the point. You keep blaming Microsoft instead of communicating with your users. This shows NG attitude. This is unfair imho towards your subscribers.

Maybe communicate instead of being defensive and blaming. A person standing at a bus stop would rather be told the bus is not running from a passer by than stand there unknowing. NG would walk on by and say not my fault, we are not to blame and let the passenger wait there.

You prove my own point by even letting me know third party airports also don’t work, which was great.

Navigraph is a great product but customer support is very poor and noting is learned.

Possibly a good learning point would be customer service and communication

When things don’t work say it. People appreciate that. They don’t when ye don’t. Basic marketing course.

Have a good day, I’m waiting for a bus. Take care.

Pete

Thank you.
