Hi Ian,
I am having the same issue. I was wondering after i generate the flight, and go to the downloader, what file do I place the flight plan into. As when i request it in the 787 it comes up with "so simbrief ofp available. I have no issue with the PMDG 737 for instance.
Hi everybody,
I have the same issue. It happens from time to time that I’m just not able to load the route. WEIGHT+BALANCE works fine.
Best regards,
Peter
I am in the same position it loads my W&B but does not import my flight plan
Dear John,
please try to wait a little longer. Maybe you (like me) are impatient and just have to wait. That works for me. But depending on the length of the route, it can take a long time.
Let me know if it works.
Best regards,
Peter
To add some technical insight to @NavigatorFranz post above, there is a very real possibility that the import takes longer than you expect!
This is because of the way such an import works in the simulator. When a flightplan that is being loaded contains airways, the simulator has to load every navaid/waypoint in every airway during the import procedure. This means that longer routes will take significantly longer to load than shorter ones, especially if it contains airways that connect many waypoints.
This has nothing to do with SimBrief or the SimBrief import per se, but it is for sure worth noting! I’ve seen imports take longer than 15 seconds
Kind Regards,
Malte
Also I have no idea about the 787 or other Microsoft Flight Simulator addons, but in real life, flight plan import is done over radio and/or satellite datalink, which is rather slow by modern standards.
Many addons simulate this to some extent, meaning the delay is not always due to the speed of the import process on your machine but rather the simulation of the IRL delay due to slow data speeds. I’m not sure if that’s what Malte is referring to, or another reason why it may take time.
As an example, in the Hot Start Challenger 650 for X-Plane, for a complex flight plan in a area of poor radio/satellite coverage, a flight plan import takes several minutes to complete successfully.
Regards,
Tim
To clarify: This is not what I am referring to. I am sure that some addons simulate this, but in the case of the tech used for the MSFS 787, this is not possible to work around. We have the same limitation with our own SimBrief integrations for the G1000 and G3000 avionics, using tech provided by the simulator / Working Title.
Several minutes sounds painful but probably realistic!
Hi Ian, I recently moved the flight simulator to a different director, when I go to load the flight plan it’s not seeing Simbrief on the FMC. Would appreciate help with this issue.
The FMC suggests changing the setup page but I’m not sure where that is. Previously the flight simulator was on dir D:, but was having the program crash a lot, Microsoft suggested loading the program on C:. I look forward in hearing from you, Thanks.
