Wrong ETOPS planing (outside MDT)


I have noticed that some times the ETOPS planing is wrong.
The “Maximum Diversion Time” is ignored, I have planed a flight using 777-200ER, and the ETP is 7 and 5 min (different scenarios) out of the MDT that the aircraft is allowed.

The Max Diversion time is based on still-air circles. Until dispatching at ETOPS 240 or greater (where actual divert time on day of dispatch is controlling), the day of dispatch divert time can exceed the MDT, as long as the route is contained within the ETOPS alternate circle radii.
