Workflow for updated enroute winds

Hello NG,

I wanted to build upon this topic, just to make sure my workflow is correct. What I do, is that when I edit the flight, I choose “Keep Past Time” so that the enroute winds are calculated originating from the original departure time. Then, of course, I update the relevant add-on and re-import winds. Is this how SB works? Because, if you don’t select the original departure time, the winds aloft data may be skewed as the time-over-waypoint will be completely different than actual.

Cheers,

Xander

Hi Xander, yes. If you keep the same departure time the winds should remain the same (or very close, depending on how long ago you generated the flight plan, the forecast model might have been refined since then).

If you reset the departure time, the winds will be skewed as if you only departed now. So your descent winds might be for 10 hours in the future, which is not what you want in this case.

Best regards,
