Create Brazilian VFR corridors with REA, REH and WAC.
Today isn’t viable to fly VFR with Navigraph on Brazil.
Hello! Welcome to our forum.
For any such requests, please provide references to real-world AIP or data sources that include the information you are looking for.
Best Regards,
Malte
Hello skysail,
First of all, thank you for you response.
I would like to contribute with that wish of having VFR REA Routes in Navigraph. I love Navigraph and, for me, that’s the only thing missing from the current APP that stops us from making VFR flights in Brazil. If anyone wants to do a VFR flight in Brazil, they would need another website subscription in order to follow the VFR REA/REH/WAC charts.
In Brazil we have corridors for airplanes (REA) and Helicopters (REH) around areas with busy airports, such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and many others. Real-world AIP can be found in the DECEA website (Brazilian Department of Airspace Control) in the following link: https://aisweb.decea.mil.br/?i=cartas&p=visuais
Please feel free to contact me if I can help in any way to make this wish a reality.
Hello, Malte! Here in Brazil, as the colleague above said, there are the charts officially published in the link he provided. These VFR charts are in .pdf and are georeferenced, so for example Geographic programs, such as QGIS open it and reference it, allowing it to be transformed in .tif or .kml.
Another officicial source that provides the .kml and other formats, such as .tif automatically is https://geoaisweb.decea.gov.br/, specifically in https://geoaisweb.decea.mil.br/geoserver/web/wicket/bookmarkable/org.geoserver.web.demo.MapPreviewPage?0, that is found on the top right hand corner of the page (however it does not become readily available like the .pdfs in the new AIRAC).
I’m one of the responsibles for the sector file update on IVAO, and we constantly update this and use these charts georeferenced, which are easy to do so. If you need any assistance on understanding these websites or how we transform this into kml, etc, please feel free to contact me at my Discord: lucas_campos
Hi! Any update on this or the possibility of implementing it?
Regards,
Lucas.
Sure! We are investigating options to make it happen, but we do not have any estimated timeline yet.
Kind Regards,
Malte
