Every time I start my PC a popup tells me there’s a new version of the FMS Data Manager software: ‘Click here’, but when I do, the popup closes and nothing else happens. I can’t see an option within the GUI to update the programme itself. So how do I update to the new version, without having to download and run the original setup exe file, as if it were a first-time install? Thank you.

Maybe try disabling your antivirus and firewall.
If still a problem best to download and install FMS Data Manager

Hi. Installing from the setup exe will retain all my file paths etc in the current GUI, yes? Not install a ‘clean’ copy? A ‘check for update’ option in the programme would be nice perhaps? 
Yes, DON´T uninstall it before, run only the setup and the program will be updated without touching your current settings/mappings.
