Some rounding errors

For example, planning from KVNY to PHNL in a Citation X, I requested full tank (FOB 5987 kg) and maximum full fuel payload (576 kg) to simulate an MTOW takeoff, instead I got 5986 kg of fuel and TOW 1 kg below MTOW.

Tim

In similar conditions (maximum fuel and maximum full fuel payload to simulate an MTOW takeoff), I’ve also had the case where SimBrief reduces the requested payload by 1kg unnecessarily to make MTOW.

(using a “hacky” airframe here as an experiment, the weight values aren’t meant to make sense in a traditional way)

Here, with a ZFW of 6000, 10,511 kg of takeoff fuel (136 kg of taxi fuel for 10,375 kg of takeoff fuel), you get the MTOW of 16,375 kg, but for some reason simBrief decided it needed 5,999 kg of ZFW instead and reduced the payload by 1 kg.

Here I was experimenting with specify the FOB in minutes rather than in kg, got a new rounding error I had not seen before:

KVNYPHNL_PDF_1711069854.pdf (85.8 KB)

Here, the requested payload of 2,016 kg was reduced to 2,015 kg to make MTOW due to the resulting block fuel being 32,705 kg… but the tank capacity for that airframe is 32,704 kg as indicated on the OFP (MTCAP).

The underlying imperial value for that airframe is 72,100 lbs which should be about 32,704.009877 kilos, less than 32,704.5

Thanks Tim, will try to look into this next week.

Cheers,

Cool.

That was the following briefing, BTW:

Hopefully the relevant internal data, if any, won’t be gone by next week.

If I choose to edit that flight, the FOB field on the flight options page is correctly populated with 5897 kg of fuel, but the final briefing has 5896 kg instead.

Tim
