We at Edelweiss Virtual have developed a fully functional OFP layout specifically optimized for Edelweiss Air and SWISS operations. Our layout is based on real airline dispatch processes and includes all essential information in a clear and structured format.
We would like to officially provide this OFP layout, making it selectable in SimBrief for all users. Therefore, we would like to ask:
Is there a way to integrate our custom OFP format into SimBrief officially?
If SimBrief allows virtual airlines to upload their own OFP layouts, what is the process for doing so?
Our goal is to enable the most realistic flight planning experience for Edelweiss Virtual pilots and other SWISS flyers. If there is interest, we are happy to share our SimBrief custom layout with the community.
I never understood why Simbrief wouldn’t enlist the help of the community when it comes to OFP layouts, especially since they hardly seem interested in adding additional ones. We’ve only had one or two LIDO derivatives in five years…
Hoping we get this added, there are way too many Lido-based OFPs. Pretty sure more than half are some variation of Lido.
Edelweiss and Swiss use CAE FPM right? That format looks similar to JBU/NKS/CMP, and would make a great addition.
If you post it in the Feature requests section, users can vote. Derek and the team sometimes use that to gauge interest in a suggested feature.
I am myself working on a .php that would nicely recreate a real-life OFP format (and took some inspiration from an early Swiss-Sabre .php-file back in the old Simbrief forum), but I’m not sure where I’m going with it. Ideally, since all add-on aircraft display the Simbrief OFP in their EFB nowadays, it would be cool to have the layout selectable in Simbrief. Otherwise it wouldn’t be of that much use at all.
