With all respect, Navigraph seems somewhat biased toward MSFS, likely because they have been involved with MSFS since the early days. I moved to X-Plane back when Microsoft released Flight, and I have been using Navigraph charts ever since they became available. With that in mind, I truly hope they will consider X-Plane users as well in this initiative — that is my wish.
As the main author of this topic, it’s great to see how many community members have replied, agreed, and shown interest in having full X-Plane support added to the Navigraph Academy VPPL course. The growing number of responses demonstrates that this isn’t just a personal preference, but a shared need across the community — especially for those who rely on X-Plane’s highly accurate flight dynamics and training-focused environment.
I hope the continued engagement here helps highlight the value of this addition and encourages the team to consider implementing native X-Plane compatibility in future updates of the VPPL course.
Thanks again to everyone who contributed — let’s keep the discussion moving.
Another die hard X-Plane user, hoping to see integration in whatever timeframe is possible…
Very happy to hear the reply that this is in consideration already.
I’ll just keep the bookmark and await further updates.
The monthly email blast for the latest AIRIC and the previous newsletter advertised the free Academy sign up. So I went ahead and signed up all excited, only to find out its for MSFS only. I have X-Plane. There should be a bold header explaining that because I cant find anywhere were it says only MSFS. Unless i dive into the help section and only then its buried with Navigraph hub info. So i already enrolled and cant do it, thanks.
I am also a long time X-Plane user, now XP12, and would very much appreciate work done to bring forward Navigraph Academy’s integration with X-Plane. Thank you, Navigraph, for your consideration for this.
Are there any plans to include X-Plane 12? I have been using it for many years and really don’t want to switch to MSFS.
Greetings, Please add my request for XPlane support for the Academy.
I’ve been extremely happy with aircraft performance modeling for about 5 years, and I’m very unlikely to replace XPlane with MSFS, or to add MSFS as a second sim.
Hi…,
We note your request to update the information advising Academy initially requiring MSFS. I have moved you post to this thread to keep similar requests together.
Cheers
Ian
We shall use your suggestion for potential enhancements and new functionality. So, please be as detailed as you can.
For SimBrief feature requests, please see Feature Requests - Navigraph

Request for X-Plane plugin support for Navigraph Academy YPPL Course. Thanks
What a waste of my time! Really excited to find out about the Academy but nowhere did it say MSFS only in the email, only found that out after enrolling. Please add support for X-Plane users, many of who subscribe to your charts too ![]()
Hi! We will try to be clearer in the future. We have been trying to be transparent about Academy being launched with MSFS support as a start, for example in the FAQ. We’ll do our best to keep pushing this out so that there is no bad suprises. Thank you for contributing to this thread, and as I’ve said above, we’d love to bring X-plane support to Academy ASAP.
Yes please. X-Plane 11/12 support would make this otherwise fabulous resource to a wider audience.
Colin
Hi, please keep up the good work on Navigraph Academy. I’m an 83 year old (84 next month) flight simmer presently trying to access my new download of the Steam version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 so I can access your Navigraph Academy as I’m a long standing subscriber of Navigraph Charts which I use on X-Plane 12. I’ve been trying for two weeks to connect to the Xbox Network on my pc and link my Microsoft account to my Steam account with no success. Anyway, if I ever get to launch MFS 2024 it will probably have more bugs than a hot humid summer evening in Florida. X-Plane 12 is really where it’s at, reliable and stable but presently without NAVIGRAPH ACADEMY. Please consider making the Academy available on X-Plane as soon as possible. I’m sure others feel the same way but don’t take the time to voice their opinions because they’re too busy with life and raising their families. Thanks for your time.
Yes I’m also really disappointed with navigraph and its choice of leaving out the xplane community. We are a very large chunk of the flightsim operations around vatsim and navigraph as you already know this.
Why would you leave us out of such a chance to make the sim world as real as it can be?
I’ve been flying xplane and MSFS for some 30 years or so. Starting out with FS4 and now flying xplane 12. I do believe Microsoft flightsim is more of a game than a simulator.
Just don’t understand why you would pick Microsoft over xplane, maybe a money thing not sure. If you can and hopefully in the near future you can give us a change to get involved in this chance to get a virtual PPL.
I fly with Pacific Airways and we do accept both simulators in our community, why can’t you. We on the xplane side just want to be treated the same.
Thanks,
Tom PAY1100
Hi, I fully support your request for including the possible use of X-Plane in the Academy course
I don’t think I’ll ever understand the choice why would Navigraph, when making a virtual pilot’s academy, choose to support ONLY objectively inferior simulator out of MSFS and Xplane.
Why did I choose term ‘objectively’?
Only one of the two: MSFS and X-Plane can be used (with minor modifications) in real life simulator hours building [i.e. can be used as driving software for FAA certified simulator, and be counted for REAL Pilot’s license hours within simulation limits], and it is NOT MSFS.
As far as flight simulation is concerned - MSFS is inferior one. Graphics wisely - not really the case though we ARE talking about virtual FLYING academy, are we not? Don’t get me wrong - it’s not issue of supporting MSFS in the first place. To each their own. I am astounded about choice to support ONLY MSFS.
Thanks for providing the Academy for free.
Please consider making X-Plane compatible in the near future. Thanks
I too converted frm MSFS to X-Plane (npw X-Plane 12) because of the greater accuracy and realism of flight. I too did not realise from the Academy advertising stuuf that it was for MSFS only; what a disappointment. I note that you’ve said you’d love to bring X-Plane support ot Academy - what’s stopping you?
I am the same as all of the above. I actually use a Mac for flight swimming and so there is no native support for MSFS only X-plane. Seems as those it is an almost daily request but still no progress.
Yes, please add xplane 12 support.
