Hello team,
I’m really excited about the Navigraph Academy program and the Virtual Private Pilot concept. Currently, the training officially supports Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, but many users — including myself — also fly in X-Plane 11/12.
It would be great if the Academy lessons and tools could support X-Plane as well. This would make the program accessible to a wider group of sim pilots and increase its overall flexibility.
Thank you for considering this!
Kind regards,
Fleet
I was extremely excited for the Navigraph Academy VPPL course, but I was a bit disappointed to discover that the training currently depends on MSFS 2020/2024 via plugin-based flight tracking. I had initially expected the course instructions to be simulator-agnostic so users like me—who primarily fly on X-Plane 11—could follow along without restrictions. I genuinely believe X-Plane offers the most realistic flight experience (said with full respect to all platforms), and it would be amazing to see a native X-Plane plugin added for flight tracking in the future. This would open the program to a much wider community. I hope the team considers adding support, as many X-Plane users would love to participate in the Academy.
My thoughts exactly. X-Plane is probably the second most popular of all Sims. I’m too invested in it to change now. I would love to hear a timeline for this.
Yes, please add support for X-plane (12) ; the dynamics in MSFS are terrible in comparison. Would prefer not to go back to MSFS2024.
Absolutely, same here. X-Plane is my main sim and I’m too invested in it to switch platforms just for one course. I really hope the team considers X-Plane support soon…
Totally agree. I don’t see X-Plane as an “old sim” at all - its flight physics and overall simulation quality are still some of the best ever made. That’s why X-Plane support would mean a lot to many of us.
Hi Team,
I believe the intention was to offer Academy through the simulator with the greatest number of users.
However this Wishlist is the best place to make the suggestion, which will be considered.
Cheers
Ian
Hi all! We’d love to support X-Plane in the future. We have started with MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 mainly due to time limitations, and it would likely be possible to extend into X-Plane in the future. We will monitor the discussion and wishes here on the forum in our future development plans.
It’s a shame that Navigraph doesn’t consider X-Plane (11 and 12) users. Hopefully they’ll reconsider. For now, I’m disappointed. Waiting for the news from Navigraph.
I totally agree !!! This is unacceptable on Navigraph’s part.
Being a real world pilot and using x-plane 12 as a serious training tool, fs2024 is not really an option for me.
Please support x-plane 12.
Yes, X-Plane 12 is my primary simulator, also a real-world PPL holder.
Continuing the discussion from Requesting official X-Plane support for the Navigraph Academy training program:
Just wanted to say thanks for providing such a quality product for free. The words “quality” and “free” rarely appear together but you guys have done it in superb fashion.
I would also like to add to the wishlist a request for the Academy to become compatible with X-Plane. I know you are busy and I’m asking a lot when you provide the Academy for free but hopefully we can use X-Plane also.
Thanks for providing the Academy for free.
Please consider making X-Plane compatible in the near future. Thanks

Hi…,
Welcome.
I have moved your 3 posts here as they seem to be essentially the same request.
Cheers

Very disappointed that Navigraph abandoned X-Plane users with the academy. I enjoyed the videos a lot but the practical lessons locked behind MSFS. Like others have said, I moved to X-Plane after over a decade of MSFS (classic) use and was left high and dry when they left the community. I’ve had to re-invest in X-Plane over the years and I can’t throw it away just for the eye candy because Microsoft decided to re-enter the marketplace with their console game.
Hopefully Navigraph will come to realise there are a great number of X-Plane only users in the community that spend money with them as well. Users which also deserve to receive their support and generous benefits and, although they’ve been happy with the service they pay for, suddenly feel a massive kick to the nether regions when “free” means “free if we support you”
Hello! Thank you all who have contributed and voted in this thread so far. As Producer of Navigraph Academy I just want to say that we have created a system that on the backend side of things is simulator agnostic, specifically with X-Plane in mind. We’d love to bring support to X-Plane in the future and we have also discussed this with the X-Plane developers directly at FSExpo last year.
At Navigraph we are very keen to support X-Plane as it is a great simulator that we and many others use. As you probably know, we have had X-Plane support for Charts for many years. As one of the lead instructors in Academy (as well as having flown the Cessna for many years in real life) I am also very keenly familiar with the limitations of the aerodynamic model of the Cessna 172 in MSFS2020 and especially MSFS2024, and the strengths of X-Plane in this regard.
Please keep adding comments and upvotes to this thread if you feel like X-Plane compatability is important to you. We take decisions on future development largely based on user wishlists like this one.
Hope to see you all around Academy soon!
Best regards

I totally agree with the rest of all X-Plane pilots. I’m also very disappointed. X-Plane is a great sim regarding the flight physics, even better than MSFS. Therefore to learn flying skills with the Academy will be a great challenge, even when using the new weather radar and so on. As a further aspect X-Plane pilots do not pay less money for the abo, did they? Therefore they also should have to use the Academy
. Yes, hope to see all! around the Academy soon …
Please support X-Plane as well. We all know it’s not THE number one flightsim with as many users as MSFS but we are part of the simulator world. We also like to buy and use hardware, we also have Navigraph subscription. We are flightsim enthusiasts, we love our hobby. We are a part of the family and why should we not have access to the Academy or any other extension.
My wish is that, especially Navigraph, as THE no1 flight planning, EFB, charts provider never ever again splits the community like in this case. This is meant kindly. Just give more time to the developers and release je Academy or whatever may come for the whole family of flightsim fans.
Thank you,
Regards Daniel
