Redispatch/Reclearance Function for Simbrief

As more and more widebody airliners are available, when will redispatch/reclearance be available in SimBrief? It’s a very common practice and important feature on long hauls and I believe that many would like to see if this is simulated.

I support this, but there are several different versions of Redispatch/Reclear.

FAR 121 operators - as well as EASA. The percentages of enroute reserve required are different (I think), and since I am a 121 dispatcher, I cant speak to what EASA reclearance looks like and how it operates both in the preplanning stage and inflight.

121 Redispatch does not exist in the regs, but specifically in OpSpecs B044 - Planned Redispatch or ReRelease Enroute.

To be fair, redispatch is an old-way of doing things now and the more efficient way is by using (for the 121 operator) B343 - but not all the 121s have B343, or some other non-stop flight planning method.

If on my 14 hour flight I can’t do the redispatch because I don’t have the gas and am required to land short, what did I accomplish? That crew will probably not be legal to immediately redepart after a gas-n-go (which can still take a while); so I am going to take a crew rest delay (think prob 8-12 hours minimum) - what about the payload during the time the crew is in rest? What about that aircraft’s rotation after a 12 hour crew rest hole in it and the cascading delays? The newer larger aircraft (one still being paid for by leases and power by the hour contracts) their cost to operate a takeoff could be 15000 USD or more. The fuel cost saved by redispatch will never outsave the cost to operate the additional cycle.

This is still planned to be looked into down the road, but likely not in the coming months at least.
