I’m having an issue where ILS and VOR signals are not being received. The frequencies tune correctly in the MCDU, but no LOC or G/S indications appear on the PFD/ND.
Here’s what I tried:
• Deleting content.xml alone did not fix the issue
• Deleting content.xml and reinstalling AIRAC together fixed it once
• After restarting the sim, the issue came back
• I deleted content.xml again, but now it does not fix the issue anymore
This is happening on multiple aircraft, including the A321neo and the iniBuilds A350.
Is there a known cause or a permanent fix for this?
Thanks.
For reference, I’m not using any external hardware except a joystick, and there are no issues with my avionics-related key bindings. Everything else works as expected.
Thank you for your reply. However, I haven’t installed any new third-party scenery. All the third-party sceneries I’m using were working fine before. Is it possible that this issue started happening suddenly after the Airac update?
Also, yesterday I deleted and reinstalled Airac, and the problem was temporarily fixed. But unfortunately, it broke again after that.
Content.xml (89.9 KB) I’m not very familiar with the C172 systems, so I’m not completely sure about this. The content.xml file is located at:
pc/c/user/username/appdata/roaming/msfs2024/nickname.
I didn’t reinstall anything or change any settings. However, when I tested it again today, something that wasn’t working yesterday is now working. Do you have any idea why this might be happening?
Hi,
Thanks for the content file, but it looks like you are still using 3rd-party scenery? For testing, please follow the FAQ link and move ALL your 3rd party sceneries out of the community folder (according the FAQ link). After that, restart the sim and test it again …
This is not a navdata issue; I´m 100% sure you are using an incompatible 3rd-party scenery.
I ran two tests today, and it worked normally even without removing my other third-party add-ons.
So I don’t think this is a scenery issue, because it’s the same scenery that caused problems before, but today I tested it twice and didn’t have any issues.
Could this be caused by something else? Besides scenery, I’m using GSX Pro and the FSR add-on.
I can´t answer this, sorry - but it seems an isolated issue on your system and in nearly all cases here in the forum, the main issue was a 3rd party scenery/mod.
The reason I still think this is a scenery issue is that in the scenery, you can disable such information, which results in missing navaid facilities. Therefore, my recommendation is to clean your community folder (excluding our data) to test whether it works permanently, without any 3rd-party addon/mod/scenery.
I still get this issue even with all third-party scenery removed.
The important point is that ILS and VOR both work normally at the departure airport, but by the time I get close to the destination, the ILS is pointing back to the departure airport, and the VOR only shows the frequency but does not work (no DME / no signal).
This never happened before the AIRAC update. It started only after updating AIRAC, so it really feels like something got messed up during the AIRAC update.
Is there really no other workaround? I basically can’t fly like this.
Hi,
Please can you upload your content file again after you have removed all 3rd-party packages from your community folder, and after a restart of the sim?
It sounds very strange because we offer the data behind and not the logic as you describe. When it’s an AIRAC issue, we would see a lot more reports here, but you are the only one. So it is definitely isolated to your system.
Please try to use any stock aircraft first, as I have mentioned (even when you are not familiar with it - the best and the only absolute reference is the G1000 because this GPS always uses the latest WT SDK).
Sorry, no clue what happened on your system. It looks like we are still in the analysis phase …
Cheers
Richard
PS: To be sure, when you remove our data, you don’t see this behaviour?
Content.xml (89.9 KB) After removing everything, I’m attaching my content.xml and a screenshot.
I’m not familiar with using the G1000 system, so I can’t confirm whether the VOR is being displayed correctly there.
Set the frequency 109.00 via the NAV wheel (red circle)
Press the ↔ button (yellow arrow) - this changes N1 from left to right, and the color should be green with the ident YDM on the right
Press the PFD Opt button (green arrow), and after that, on the DME button (same green arrow)
The result should be the same as in the screenshot (possible with another CRS, but that is not important).
I´m still sure that something “overrules” something on your system because you see the YDM VOR in the EFB correctly, but you don´t receive the signal; that’s my indication that the data is installed correctly, but some other package “disables” it in the avionics.
Cheers,
Richard
PS: Do you use the Store or Steam version of MSFS2024?
