There is a new loading order logic since SU3; therefore, it is essential to reset your content.xml file when, for example:
- You miss airports.
- You miss procedures.
- You miss waypoints.
- Legs are missing from the nav devices.
- There are third-party scenery issues.
- There are flight plan import issues.
- …
This file will be automatically recreated at the next simulation start.
You will find the content.xml file in the following locations (Note, the location has changed since SU3 - it´s now in a sub-folder, with your xbox-game-tag-id):
Sim from Marketplace:
%localAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\<your game tag id>
Sim from Steam:
%appData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\<your game tag id>
What else can you try?
- Move all your third-party packages, excluding
navigraph-xxxpackages, out of yourcommunityfolder and into a backup folder so that the sim cannot load these packages. - Start MSFS 2024 and check if your issue is resolved.
- If resolved, you know that one of the moved packages is the culprit.
To find out which package it is, you can move one package at a time back into the community folder and test it again. It is time-consuming, but it is the only way to find out which package(s) violate the SIM and other third-party add-ons.
PLEASE! Don´t re-order or re-name the navdata packages - since SU3, this is no longer necessary, and can result in an undefined state of the sim
Cheers,
Richard
