Its very likely that the intermittent internet connection is the culprit here. Try the lesson again and try to make sure you have a stable internet connection.
I have tried so many times, no idea why non-straight stalls is always giving incomplete. Please advise. Thanks!
Hello, any news about my problem - incomplete?
I repeat aso my previous question. -see below
Question - suggestion
Can you take a look at my flight no. 16? Everything was passed, except the non-straight stall (incomplete). See link in previous mails
If you can review this flight, and in case the non-straight stall was also correct, could you then update the status of lesson 5? That way I can continue with the rest and you will have more time to solve the problem.
Hello,
I have adjusted Lesson 5 so you can continue on with the other lessons.
Hi Support,
Please assist on flight 72. Here is the link. Navigraph Academy
The same incomplete issue persists after several attempts. Thanks!
@pilotshyper Check your lesson list again, you should be able to progress now.
@GordonNG Thank you so much!
Maan, I’m just gonna skip passing this one for now and continue on to no. 6. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I consistently have perfect or good enough rating on the stalls to pass, but trying to guesstimate the amount of G’s im pulling without any data or feedback like flying in a real plane, is so impossible. and I can’t even be at 1.88 G’s or at 2.01 without it failing me.
I think get what you’re trying to accomplish here, making us get a feel for how a VNE dive and recovery is executed and not just a ballpark but a pretty precise maneuver, but the precision here compared to all previous lessons feels like smacking against a cliffwall.
Maybe I forgot but: can I retry as many times as a I want in one go, and the system selects the best attempt or does it average them?
any way, thanks for this academy so far, I’m really learning so much and the, I reckon, simplified explanations of the theory behind aviation is so well explained <3
EDIT. Okay so after writing this, I was thinking that the thing that is frustrating is trying to train this, because after each attempt I have to wait for the system to analyze my attempt(s) and then get feedback, it’s hard putting the practice and theory together when I dont know in which part of the dive and pitch-up i exceed the 2G. I know it’s not your fault that ms24 or the c172 doesnt have equipment to show g forces, but that’s at least what’s frustrating from my end of things ![]()
I am also seeing an issue with non straight stalls. No matter what I do it seems to not register them. I dont know if im doing something wrong or what. My last attempt was at 70 KIAS and still shows no attempt. I tried to post a link in here but it said that it couldnt and then it marked my post as spam and removed it…so here it is again Lesson 5: Stalls & Dive to Max Speed - #54 by erwabo
Thanks a lot for the feedback here, I have passed this onto our developers. In the meantime, I have marked both of these lessons as passed on your accounts.
So after analyzing:
Overall, Academy is behaving consistently, stalls are detected when performed clearly and deliberately. The dives are failing because g-force is being detected above the target range. Repeat the lesson with a smoother climb out of the dive, that should allow a more consistent pass rate.
- Aim to keep the dive smooth.
- Avoid recovering sharply
- Don’t be too aggressive on the controls.
- Remember, practice makes perfect.
The same points above go for every maneuver, dive recovery, stalls etc.
Thanks!
I’ll keep trying and improving! Again, this is a great learning experience, I really appreciate the work you do ![]()
@GordonNG what am I missing here? How am I within 1kt of target speed and bang on on G goal, but it only scores a 20%? The straight stall and turning stalls were easy passes, but this dive goal seems to be bugged. Are you still doing manual pass marks?
@HorizontalControlle1 I have forwarded this to the analysis team
So after further review, the last four flights descending
Flight 12 - Turns in slow flight were not found, otherwise the lesson would have been passed
Flight 11 - Same condition
Flight 10 - All maneuvers were detected but the heading difference was too great. In the lesson, heading differences are expected to be within 0 to 15°, in this instance, the heading was 18°.
Flight 9 - Only the slow-flight component passed. Slow flight in Turns, Slow flight with Flaps and Turns in Slow Flight with flaps failed because those events were not detected.
I think the wrong flights were analyzed. My post was regarding stalls and dives, not slow flight.
Thats fine, the feedback is still valid, a lot more flying precision needs to be maintained.
I have asked the Academy team to analyse the last four stalls and dives lessons.
Ok for stalls and dives, the trends that constitute lower scoring are due to;
- Dive to max speed, the gforce on recovery is too great. 1.5g is the tolerance
- 2.17G on the last two lessons, 1.7 for the lesson prior to those.
- One of the lessons, non-straight stalls were not observed.
One of the major complexities with this lesson is the lack of heptic feedback one gets when under gforce load. Extra caution needs to be made when pulling out of a dive in order to not exceed the airframe tolerance.
I have passed straight stalls and dives many times, yet for some reason generate incompletes on the turning stalls despite completing them repeatedly with proper turn radius, coordination, stall recovery, with minimum loss of altitude. I see this has occurred with other participants as well. Would love to move on. Thanks.
