Initial flight plan

Below is a screenshot of the prompt that I am looking for. If you are not seeing this prompt, there are two possible scenarios:

  • The panel is out of date and is not aware of the flightplan
  • The Charts app has found the flightplan to be invalid, and thus not loadable.

The troubleshooting of this issue would begin by seeing if the flightplan has, in fact, been rejected. You can find out by opening the New flight menu, as indicated by the below screenshot.

This will prompt you with a few different import options, the last of which should be labeled “From simulator”. If this button is greyed out and non-clickable, it means that the flightplan was rejected/invalid.

Yes, it will always show the last flightplan. Unless you interact with it by loading another flightplan, it will always show the same route on startup.

In order to load a new one, you have to click the “New flight” button from the previous screenshots and select any of the options to create a flightplan.

We have found ways of doing this, and the latest panel code should be able to accomplish what you are looking for. We just don’t do it automatically on startup to respect the user’s choice. Instead, we kindly prompt the user when opening the panel, if a valid flightplan is found.

If it is not working, i.e. if no prompt shows up and the “From simulator” button is greyed out despite you having entered a correct* flightplan, please advise and we’ll troubleshoot the issue together.

* A correct flightplan is one that contains at least an origin airport and a destination airport.

Hope this helps to explain any misunderstandings, and as mentioned please advise if something is not working as intended!

Kind Regards,
Malte
