So i have been using navigraph for years and i am very happy with it. There are some performance issues that are not new but continually annoy me. Just thought i would detail them here to see if there is any work around. I fly exclusivly in VR.
Firstly when loading the in game panel my system goes nuts with extreme image jitter. After 30 seconds or so everything settles and is fine.
Secondly, and this is most annoying, when switching charts, using the tabs at the bottom, I always click on the icon on the right of the tab to enable the moving map. It nearly never works first time and sometimes it takes 2 or 3 clicks to make it work. Somtimes it is just thinking about changing so second click turns the moving map off. Very inconvenient when on approach and needing to change charts quickly.
I have a 5090 with the latest intel cpu so I doubt it is a pc underpowered issue.
No biggie but a constant annoyance to me. Anyone else experience this. Is there a way to fix it?
Hi Ian. My headset is a Pimax Super. I very delibratly only clicked once. Id say 90 percent of the time it works if you wait long enough but how long is enough is hard to guess. If it doesnt work and you have to click again and wait you have now wasted 20 seconds during a critical phase of flight. Not fatal but annoying. Also on my machine while waiting for the change to happen I often get severe stutters and micro pauses.
Just out of curiosity, if you reduce the graphical options, is the impact still annoying?
MSFS, whether it be 2020 or 2024 are have quite high resource budgeting, 2024 being the worst offender of the two. It would be interesting to see if reducing graphical settings can help.
Also, I recall an earlier conversation one of my colleagues brought up, which might be interesting
