Displaced Aircraft Positioning

I discovered several days ago that while my aircraft was parked in Auckland New Zealand (NZAA), Navigraph charts placed my aircraft North off the coast of Brazil in South America. Needless to say my aircraft wold not track with my flight plan.

Today I decided to try flying out out of Brazil (SBFZ) the closest to where Navigraph was placing my aircraft as an experiment to see if it would realign. Unfortunately, this approach did not work. Now when I open open Navigraph Charts from my desktop or attempt to import my Simbrief OFP into Navigraph Charts I get an error stating, “INOP - Something didn’t work out as expected. If the issues does not resolve themselves, please visit our forum for support.” This statement is accompanied by two “buttons”. “Reload”, which I attempted numerous time and “Open forum” where I could not find the solution to my difficulties.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Richard! Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the forum!

You don’t mention what simulator or OS you are using, or the version of any of our apps. However, what you are describing sounds related to an issue we had during the release of the telemetry features in Charts 8.29.0, which required an update to Simlink. You can read more in this thread:

If you think that your issue could be related, please make sure that you have the absolutely latest version of Navigraph Simlink installed, and then reinstall the plugins. The last part is absolutely critical, as you can be on the latest version of Simlink and still be running old versions of the plugins.

If you are not using X-Plane or you believe that your issue is different in some other way, let me know and we’ll investigate this further! In this case, the version numbers of the Navigraph Charts and Simlink apps that you have installed would come in handy!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Thank you for responding.

I am running the X-Plane applications (X-Plane 12.07r1 (build 120700 Intel 64-bit, Metal)) on an intel (2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, Memory 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4) Macbook Pro running macOS Monterey (version 12.6.6 (21G646)).

I un-installed (CleanMyMac Version 4.14.2 (4.14.2) uninstaller) all of the Navigraph applications and re-installed Navigraph FMS Data Manager, re-installed Navigraph Charts (Version 8.29.1 (8.29.1)), and the Navigraph+Simlink application package.

I moved my aircraft to different airport (MKJP, Kingston, Jamaica) but the error continues (my aircraft now displays in the middle of the African continent.

Again, thank you for responding and looking forward to any other helpful suggestions.

That’s a great start! However, the most important step is still missing:

You can do this in two ways:

  1. Open the Plugin Status menu, press Plugin settings, and then press Uninstall Simlink. Then press Install Simlink to reinstall it, which should update it!

  2. Open X-Plane 12/Resources/Plugins and delete NavigraphSimlink_64.xpl, then install the plugin again from the Simlink Plugin Status menu

Kind Regards,
Malte

Thank you. We’re all straight now. I just had difficulty locating access to the app. Didn’t realize it was a menu bar item at the top of the screen on a Mac.
I appreciate your help.
