Crash to Desktop When Importing a Flightplan in SimBrief EFB MSFS 2024

Can you confirm that you are using MSFS2024? And if so, what AIRAC are you using? We only provide a beta version of our AIRAC for MSFS, there is no official release yet. As mentioned by my colleague, the beta AIRAC is available in the Navigraph Hub:

i’m using the 2405 one and i’m using fs24 but i can’t access to the navigraph hub

Your route is not valid given the current AIRAC (which is used by the simulator). There is no 07R on EDDB, no RANU1G departure, and no KLF07R arrival.

It’s not good that the simulator crashes, though - we’ll have to check that out. It may be out of our control, but we can always make sure!

Kind Regards,
Malte

do we need to subscribe to avoid the problem ?

I am not able to reproduce the issue with your route. I am on the SU1 beta though, I presume you’re not? Here is the output after import. As expected, no procedures have been loaded - but the simulator did not crash!

We can just remove the procedures in the route and import the flight plan properly ?

No, that happens automatically.

Your route contains procedures that do not exist in the simulator. When the SimBrief EFB app encounters these procedures during import, it fails to find them in the navigation data, and thus, no procedures are added to your route. There should be no crash involved.

Are you on SU1 beta or not?

what is “SU1” ? i don’t think i’m on it

It’s “Sim Update 1”. You need to manually enlist to the simulator beta updates, so I am pretty sure that you are not on it in that case.

Then it seems like they have made improvements in SU1 which will fix this issue! There is nothing that the EFB app does that should cause a crash, so I would say that this is on Asobo to fix. We could probably make workarounds, but seeing as they will seemingly fix this in the next update I don’t think it is worth it.

The release date for SU1 has been moved forward from February 18, with February 25 set as a tentative (uncertain) new date. Let’s hope they get it out as quick as possible, and if the crashes still persist at that point we will try to find a workaround!

it works, you are right, I changed it in properties

That’s great! I hope that goes for everyone when this update is released!

I am running MSFS 2024 Beta 1.3.24.0 and get CTD with the sim loads. The crash happens when I start the sim every time. If I uninstall the Navigraph base packages the sim does not CTD. Do these plugins not work with the latest build?

I have a regular steam installation and no beta only standard but I know the problem:

I create flight plans with simbrief both inside and outside the flight simulator. then I use the simbrief downloader to save the flight plan on the hard disk.
When I then want to load the flight plan in the new EFB within the flight simulator, the flight simulator crashes completely.
If I try to load the flight plan from the PC directly in the flight simulator without efb from the flight plan overview page, the flight simulator also crashes completely.
in this way I can never load a flight plan created with sim-brief into the flight plan overview page.
Is this a known bug in MSFS or in the simbrief downloader?
How can I get around it?
At the moment I always have to manually create the entire flight plan again in the navigation device inside the aircraft. :frowning:

Try creating, saving and Generating flight plan in SimBrief EFB, then Importing plan. You shouldn’t need the SimBrief Downloader.

If still an issue, please advise with versions Operating System, Flight Simulator and aircraft.
Please provide flight plan in text form.

Cheers
Ian

As of this morning I am now having this issue. Was working fine last night but this morning every time I try and import from sim brief on the efb it CTD. tried different routes but same every time. I am on the beta SU1

Hello! Please provide one of the flightplans, regardless of whether you think it matters or not. That way, we can try to reproduce the issue!

4 posts were split to a new topic: Error with flightDetailsStore during import SU2

Hello again! We made some changes in response to another topic that was reporting CTDs, and it is quite possible that those changes also positively affect this one!

Please give the latest version a go and let me know if you still experience CTDs.

Kind Regards,
Malte

Issue hasn’t been resolved, keep experiencing CTD when importing the flight plan in the EFB after updating to latest version, uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin from the hub.
Tried several flights created, manually, automatically from V.A. and automatically from simbrief dispatch, all with the same result, after importing the flight into the EFB, the moment I click on start flight, CTD.

Best regards.
Richard

Hello! Welcome to our forum!

Please provide the full route that you are attempting to import. You can just send me a link of your briefing in SimBrief (should be dispatch.simbrief.com/briefing/<number here>, you should have this in your address bar after loading the flight).

Even if “all routes are failing”, we need at least one scenario that we can try to reproduce. We don’t see any CTDs ourselves when importing flights.

Also relevant: What AIRAC do you have installed? Do you use our AIRAC or the one that comes with the simulator?

Kind Regards,
Malte
