Charts windows

Hi, is it possible to keep size and position of charts window after close it and reopen ?

thx

Hello,

Yes, Windows/MacOS will remember the location and dimension of the Charts app when you close it.

Hi, I have to screens and Charts is on lateral screen, occuping 2/3 of it.

When I close Charts and reopen, position and size are not restored.

What device/operating system are you using?

Also, what version of the Charts app are you using?

windows 11 and 8.43 for charts. I would like to keep this disposition on my lateral screen

Thanks for the extra information.

We will need a little more to investigate further.

Can you try what my colleague mentions on this other post, please.

No, I’ve tried to reduce the windows (30% of the screen, but it is the same behaviour.

I close it with the cross in the right up corner, perhaps there is other solution

That’s the correct way to close the application.

It would be good to see if the window-state.json file remembers the window position.. It would be good to have this information so I can raise the issue with our developers.

Hi, where can I this file ?

The link to another thread where my colleague gives advice.. it would be good to see how your window-state.json file reacts.

Ups, sorry Gordon, I doesn’t saw the link :

The requested file = {“width”:703,“height”:522,“x”:-1229,“y”:184,“isMaximized”:false,“isFullScreen”:false,“displayBounds”:{“x”:-1463,“y”:0,“width”:1463,“height”:915}}

You need to position the Charts window in your preferred location first, then make a note of the position in the window-state.json file, then close the Charts app.

Then, open charts back up again to see if the window-state.json file has changed. This is explained in the second part of that post Malte wrote.

Hi,

first attempt : windows is in required position/size (see picture)

{“width”:1234,“height”:916,“x”:-1379,“y”:120,“isMaximized”:true,“isFullScreen”:false,“displayBounds”:{“x”:-1463,“y”:0,“width”:1463,“height”:915}}

second attempt : I close it and reopen => size and position are not restored and part of the charts windows is on my second screen {“width”:933,“height”:850,“x”:-1450,“y”:13,“isMaximized”:false,“isFullScreen”:false,“displayBounds”:{“x”:-1463,“y”:0,“width”:1463,“height”:915}}

Gordon it is clearly a problem with “2 screens” usage because I’ve just tried with one screen keep perfectly its position/size

If I define my lateral screen as main screen, same result : restore ok !!

Thanks for the update!

Close the Charts app and go to the directory where the Charts app configuration sits

  1. Press Win + R

  2. Type %appdata%\Navigraph Charts and press enter

Rename this folder to Navigraph Charts+test to isolate the folder. Once it is renamed, open the charts app again, reposition the window and close it.

Does the app remember the new position now?

Hi, this no change the situation. For the moment, I solve it with an Autokey script
