Charts 8 In-Game Panel Beta Testing

I had this problem with all versions. Fixed it by deleting the key binding in MSFS for the Navlog.

On this 8.15 build yes but previous to this build no.

Ok, good to hear.

So looks like I need to double check my version again. And this 8.15 is available via the zip file linked in the first post here?

A new update (8.16.0) has been released!

This update is immediately available, the zip file has not been updated. You should see the update the next time you load the panel without any further actions.

We have taken measures to reduce any stuttering. Since we cannot reproduce them ourselves, please let us know if you see any improvements!

I understand the frustration. The zip file has only been updated once, and although the changes were likely not noticeable at all we should have made it more clear.

Nothing has changed with regard to the keyboard shortcut since April. It is possible that something changed in the simulator though! We can look into this of course, do we have any proposed solutions? There is no ā€œofficialā€ way of registering keybinds so we can’t override what’s already built in.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much we can do about the scrollbars in their current state as their function/interaction is decided by the simulator itself. Do the scrollbars in the old panel work better for you? We’ll investigate.

Many thanks for coming in with this update, much appreciated @skysail !

And now just to make sure I fully understand what you’re saying here, as long as I’m on the currently available version via the download link in the first post, I should now receive the latest version simply by opening the Navigraph in-game panel - correct?

As for the scrollbar, I’m still a bit puzzled why I can’t make it work over here. After @nomancs69 confirmed above how the scrollbar does work with the mouse in 8.15.

Correct! You can verify this fact in the settings menu.

Brilliant, thanks for that.

Any difference regarding the perceived stuttering with v 8.16?

Regards,

Stephen

Sorry to say I had the same stuttering when departing EGMC not long ago.

For me though, not a big deal since I usually just have a quick look at the map where to go before I close it. I don’t like having things floating around inside the VR cockpit that shouldn’t be there IRL. Or at least not floating in thin air next to me

Still the same for me im afraid, its not as irritating now but nice if and when it can gotten rid of but that wont be for a while if your unable to reproduce at your end.

Tried it today GCRR to LPMA and stutter seemed solved…
I.e. no stutter.
But I need more flights to confirm….

Just noticed that when I try to import a flight, using ā€œImport from Fileā€, nothing happens. No file browser appears, either inside VR or outside on the desktop, same problem in pancake mode. I can’t remember whether I tried this in previous versions or not, but currently I’m using 8.16.

@stephen & @skysail Just wanted to make sure you saw this suggestion. I guess this would be a fairly simple thing for you to implement which IMO would make a lot of sense and make using the product easier and more intuitive.

I noticed how you guys keep making small improvements here and there to the UI. So maybe you could add this to your list unless there’s some downside to it I didn’t see yet.

Hi,

Yes we have logged this suggestion, which sounds good indeed.

Regards,

Stephen

That’s great to hear, thanks.

The stuttering is still present after the update to v 8.16. After I deactivated the beta panel, everything ran smoothly, as before.
Is this stuttering only present in the simulator with VR glasses when the beta panel window is opened? If it is not opened, is the stuttering still present? I will try it right away and let you know.

I found out the stuttering is related to the own plane following function of the in-game panel (beta), being in VR or in 2D. It is clearly visible once the plane starts moving.
As soon as the follow mode is deactivated the stuttering is gone.

I saw the stuttering in 2D too earlier today at FlyTampa Athens when taxiing out to the runway.

So as others already reported, this is not an issue specific to VR.

Checked it again today.
There are still some stutters (probably less acute than before), but only when the plane position (the pink arrow) is overlapped to the map. As soon as I disconnect the icon for showing the plane, stutters end.
