Britten-Norman BN2A Islander - Thranda

I just purchased the Thranda model of the Brittan-Norman BN2A for XPlane12. I cannot seem to find a profile for this aircraft in Simbrief. Can you tell me if there is an acceptable substitute I can use while one is being developed? Many thanks.

I too have bought the Thranda aicraft, which I think is great, but I suffer the same as you in not finding a Simbrief profile for it.

Would suggest you try the DHC-2 Beaver, as performance is closest, although obviously looks entirely different being a single engine and a tail-dragger. Likely to work better with Pilot2 ATC though (for example) as they will hopefully take the Beaver performance into account when issuing instructions.

Suggest you join and vote on the topic : Aircraft request: BN-2 Islander

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion and link. I also saw a note suggesting the DHC-6 Otter which is a twin with a similar configuration. Has a top speed in the 170 kt range which is probably due to the retractable gear. I will add my name to the request page.

Oops… It doesn’t have retractable gear. My bad.
