Title says it all. At cruise settings 2300rpm/24" manifold presure, actual TAS found is 175 kts.
Is there any way I can edit the Simbrief value of 197 kts?
If not, could SimBrief crew take it on board, please? We, as an ATO, use the Simbrief LIDO format for our P3/MEIR rating course on this aircraft. Fuel consumption is spot on, but ETA’s … ?
Hi, I have checked and SimBrief’s data looks correct.
Your latest flight plan showed a TAS of 190-192 kts at 5,000 feet, I don’t see 197 kts anywhere though.
Looking at the POH, at 5,000 feet and ISA conditions at this power setting, TAS should be 190 kts. The CAS should be 176 kts, are you perhaps confusing TAS with CAS?
Best regards,
Thank you for your quick response. However,I am not sure about the content
.
My Simbrief LIDO flight plan showed a TAS of 191 - 192 kts on each leg . The flight plan elapsed times calculated and the resulting ETA’s also indicated use of this higher speed. When I adjusted my ASI for outside air temp and altitude it gave a TAS of 175 +/- 2 kts, which is what I actually experienced in regard to leg timings.
How are you converting the ASI speed to TAS? What was your ASI indicated speed? If you use this tool goes it give the same result?
All i can say is that the POH gives a CAS (roughly ASI speed) of 176 and a TAS of 190, at 5,000 ft and your quoted power setting. If your aircraft is giving something different in the sim then I’d suggest bringing this up with the developer, SimBrief’s numbers look fine to me.
Thanks for the information - I shall certainly do as you suggest
[I adjusted the ASI using the rotary knob and set the altitude against the indicated OAT on the subscale]
