Hi, just relaunched my Navigraph subscription. No trouble in the past getting the download to update the MCDUs in my commercial aircraft. However, this time even though I have downloaded the latest AIRC data the MCDU in my Xplane 12 are showing data out of date.
Which folder do these go into in Xplane 12? I think its custom data. That folder is showing an old download of Jepperson data from 2 years ago when I last had a subscription.
I have deleted the FMS manager and redownloaded it from the Navigraph site.
I have followed the instructions for an automatic download. No Joy
I have also tried a manual download from the Navigraph Site of the holistic Xplane12 file
No Joy, my commercial aircraft MCDUs still giving a 'data out of date message.
I have tried manually downloading the specific Airbus 330 data file (my commercial of choice) No Joy
I last had a current data base in 2023, no problem then with the automatic download to Xplane12
I provide some screenshots to help.
The settings in FMS data Manager
FMS data Manager
Custom Data folder in Xpane12 (you can see some stuff in there from recent days but not getting through to the MCDU in Xplane12 (see MCDU)
I’ve been getting an error message for some time on my PC saying
Failed to load extension from C:\Users\USER\PCAppStore\ui. Manifest file is missing or unreadable
It hasn’t seemed to have affected any item that I’m aware of as yet and doesn’t seem to be connected to downloads of Navigraph to Xplane??
Hope you can help as I am eager to do some serious flight sim work in my a330.
Can you confirm this path is the same as in the FMS Data Manager? In your case, it should be:
Can you confirm this? Because you see in these two screenshots that the path is different. In FMS Data Manager, you have ...\USER\Desktop\X-Plane 12\ … and in the screenshot where the data is, you have Xplane\X-Plane 12\.... Two different paths, and therefore, the data will not be updated.
I assume you have set this path manually in the FMS Data Manager, and it is wrong; you have set the location of your desktop icon instead of the root folder.
I would recommend following:
close the FMS Data Manager
delete the settings.conf and the mapping.index file in the path %programdata%\Navigraph\FMSClient
start your X-Plane one time and close it immediately
restart the FMS Data Manager (you must login again) and let the FMS Data Manager scan your system
Is this the screenshot you want?
I don’t have high level computer skills, so can you be more specific with the proposed fix in dot point 2 (
Where do I find these files to delete etc)
I did muck around with the path in settings as I thought it might help when I first had the problem.
Yes, thank you … now it´s clear why the FMS Data Manager updates the wrong files, in the wrong location.
The path in your FMS Data Manager is: C:\Users\USER\Desktop\X-Plane 12\
… and the real path is: C:\Users\USER\OneDrive\Desktop\Xplane\X-Plane 12\
Two different paths—also, it is not recommended to install an application on OneDrive (or at least disable the X-Plane 12 folder from the sync process, but that´s another topic. It could be a massive performance killer.
Back then, you could fix it:
Close the FMS Data Manager
open your file-explorer and copy & paste the following %programdata%\Navigraph\FMSClient in folder line (red)
You should see files in this folder, delete the mappings.index and the settings.conf file (green)
Start X-Plane 12 and after it´s fully started, close it
Open the FMS Data Manager, log in (you must log in again), and let the FDM scan your system when the question arises: Scan the system.
The X-Plane 12 entry should be found automatically - check the path on the settings page - you should see now: C:\Users\USER\OneDrive\Desktop\Xplane\X-Plane 12\
When all is done, you can update it as usual, and the AIRAC cycle in X-Plane 12 should be updated to version 2505.
Let me know, when something is still unclear please
I will have a few more questions such as how to log out and back into FMS manager, mine is on the desktop and comes up with no obvious facility to log out and back in again.
Also, I noticed when I had a look last, Xplane12 has disappeared from the list of addons. This maybe because after I read your first email I put the correct path into the settings.
Anyhow I will work on what you have provided and talk to you later.
