Missing WAVIE in the approach .

First, we don´t use CIFP - we use our own source directly from Jeppesen. The codings can be different …

WAVIE is part of the approach transition, but I´m not sure this is correct because, according to the FAA, WAVIE is the initial approach fix, yet we indeed have ADAME as the initial approach fix in our data.

We will ask Jeppesen whether there is a specific reason for this and/or whether they can fix it in one of the upcoming cycles.

Cheers,
Richard

Here’s the issue: Jeppesen sources its data from regional publications—in this case, the FAA CIFP—so I consider that the authoritative source. I don’t know what data was used for the conversion, but WAVIE is a FACF at this point and should be displayed even when no transition is selected.

No, that is not correct … there are many differences between the FAA CIFP and the Jeppesen data (US area only), so it is not a 1:1 copy of the CIFP data. Anyway…

We will ask Jeppesen to check and (if necessary) correct this in one of the next AIRAC cycles.

Cheers,
Richard

So which data source should we trust here? The Jeppesen chart and the FAA AIP chart match perfectly, and both identify WAVIE as the IF. That suggests this is either a source-data issue, which seems unlikely, or a problem with the conversion on your side.

As I wrote before, WAVIE is part of the approach transition in our source … it is not an issue with our converter; the output is exactly what we have in our data, even when you don´t believe it.

We will ask Jeppesen to check and (if necessary) correct this in one of the next AIRAC cycles.

Cheers,
Richard
