even with the fallback implemented at EDDF it still uses wrong rwys and SID’s. Thats why i wanted to write this topic and ask if you can create kind of an rule, that it doesn’t do that. For us controller its really annoying if they still get departures from 25L or asking for it, even when they are standing north of the RWY’s. 25L is rarely used as Terminal 3 is not in use for now.
Next year it may be different (depending on real ops) with 25L but for now its to 99% unlikely that they use 25L. Further it picks for Example MARUN..T or MARUN R which has been never used or are only for night ops- (at night EDDF is closed). I will not list everything, as it is easier to explain, what we use, than what we won’t use
Main SID’s used at Frankfurt (according to RWYs)- Designator will change monthly
25C:
MARUN8M
MARUN3W
MARUN7F (2 engined heavy)
OBOKA3M
OBOKA3W
OBOKA5G (2 engined heavy)
TOBAK8M
TOBAK8F (2 engined heavy)
RWY 07C:
OBOKA2E
OBOKA3D (heavy)
MARUN6E
MARUN2D (heavy)
TOBAK2D (heavy and non heavy)
KOMIB6D
RWY18:
SOBRA2L
ULKIG4L
ANEKI2L
CINDY8S
SULUS7S*
if 07 is in use SULUS is used out of 07C- that will be SULUS4D
Main Departure RWY either:
25C+18 or
07C+18
Further Details (which are based on real ops) can be found here:
I hope that the pilots are reading this too, and as it become quit worse with that, that it will be better in the Future. Thanks for your understanding and help.
SimBrief does not assign 25L. I have checked and confirmed this, so if you are getting pilots asking for it, it is not SimBrief’s fault.
Stats from the past week for EDDF (15,409 total departures):
Departure Runway
Times Planned
18
8,359
25C
5,182
07C
1,633
25R
88
07R

25L

07L

As you can see, 98.5% of flights are being assigned 18, 07C, or 25C for departure. For the 1.5% of flights that used a different runway, it’s because the user manually changed it from SimBrief’s default suggestion. As a matter of policy, we will not prevent users from manually overriding the runway if they choose.
I have added additional logic to avoid suggesting ..T and ..R SIDs. I also avoided ..X, ..N, ..P, and ..U SIDs since they do not appear in your list, nor are they listed in your knowledgebase link.
It is not possible to auto-suggest certain SIDs only for heavies, so for now this cannot be done automatically.
I was working our live Trans-Atlantic westbounds this past week, and for those SIDs, in the real world it is still absolutely acceptable to file DCT (e.g., DCT OBOKA) and let ATC issue whatever they’re going to issue. At no time did I get an FPL reject, at no time did I get pushback from the crew, or a note that the crew was getting pushback from ATC when picking up their IFR clearance, and everytime the FPL validated before I would file it.
