I created two identical flight plans, one for the Fenix A320 CFM the other for the IAE version. Surprised to find the exact same fuel calculation for both.
Then too I am unable to open the simbrief airframe editor to the Airframe Options page to verify the airframe options. Can only open my Saved Airframes page. Can you shed some light on this. What did I miss. It seems I do not have the correct airframe profiles for the Fenix and no way to check.
Hi, the Fenix CFM and IAE profiles were developed by Fenix themselves. It seems they kept the same fuel bias for both variants.
Note that both variants have quite similar burns (within a few percent) in the real world. Since the in-sim fuel burns can already vary by plus or minus a few percent, they might not have bothered to apply a bias.
That being said, the IAE typically burns around 2-3% less than the CFM (depending on the engine sub-variants being compared of course). If you’d like to have different fuel burns for the 2 engine types, you can create a custom airframe based on the Fenix IAE profile, set the Fuel Factor
option to M02
, then click “Save Airframe”.
Then, make sure to choose your own custom airframe from the list when creating a new flight.
Best regards,
