VTBS runway and procedures error

  • Op System: Win 11

  • FS Version: X-Plane 12

  • Add-on: Toliss Aircraft A3X

  • AIRAC Update No: 2510 rev 1

  • Problem Details: Airac 2510 has runway 19R/01L at VTBS Suvarnabhumi Intl Bangkok, Thailand. when it is supposed to be runway 19/01. cant link any procedure to runway 19 due to show the erroneous “R”, all runways are misplaced as well showing runway 19 position. airac should reflect runway 19/01, 02L/20R, 02R/20L, since 02L/20R, 02R/20L are placed in the 19/01 position there is a initial turn to match to the right procedure that is not supposed to be there.

Runway data in X-Plane does not come from the AIRAC data but from the scenery files. So what you need is updated scenery with the new runways.

In theory this scenery:

…which ships with X-Plane 12.2.0 and later, appears to have up-to-date runways:

02L/20R
02R/20L
01/19

It’s possible you’re using an older 3rd-party scenery (freeware or payware) which still has the old airport layout?

Regards,

Tim

As I mentioned it was in the FMGS procedure, not scenery, When I tried to get some ss today I saw that it was fixed, maybe it was something temporary that fixed with a restart or so, Thanks for the attention! you can close this topic.

Yes, because the FMGS reads the scenery and takes the runway information from there. As Tim wrote, we don’t offer ANY runway information in our X-Plane data - this is impossible (please read the specification).

Richard

I’d love to but don’t know where can you point to?

There are some but I guess is not used, as you mentioned. This is from the file “Custom Data\GNS430\navdata\airports.txt” provided in the airac:

A,VTBS,SUVARNABHUMI INTL,13.685833,100.748889,8,11000,13000,13100,0

I haven’t changed any scenery neither reinstalled the airac and it is normal now, that happened just after I update the airac tho, so, it might be something temporary or a reading error from the aircraft or simulator…

Thanks for y’all attention!

Here is the official, public specification of what data we ship:

The GNS430 subfolder is not part of X-Plane 11/12 native data, it’s a different database used by some older aircraft like the FlightFactor Boeing 757 and 767, and a few others.

The ToLiSS uses the native data, where runway information comes from the default ap.dat files and additional apt.dat files in scenery packs.

May I ask, do you happen to have the Taimodels’ VTBS installed? If so, have you update your scenery to version 2.3?
