Slowly moving into the PMDG 737 and Simbrief flight planning.
After importing the flight plan into the 737 FMC through the EFB, I find that the plan when viewed in the Legs page has set altitude numbers at each point.
The FS2020 Sim doesn’t seem to be adhering to these levels at each waypoint during the flight.
If flying at FL210 and the next waypoint has FL180, does the throttle retard automatically to go off the VNAV requirements and reduce altitude. Auto Throttle is set to ON.
I find that I need to use V/S to manually reduce.
Also when getting closer to landing and VNAV has levels on each step reducing in altitude for the landing, the ATC in FS2020 keeps requesting to remain at cruise level. This keeps being announced till around 15-20Nm from airport.
Thanks
Hello, normally when flying you will select a cruise altitude and not deviate too much from that altitude unless you are on an arrival with an altitude restriction or trying to avoid turbulence. Most of the time if the airplane is programmed correctly you should have no issues. I suggest taking a look at our ambassadors on youtube as there is a tremendous amount of resources there. I don’t use the default ATC in 2020, so I can not help you with that point. You should have AT-ON , VNAV and LNAV, ON in CMD mode and your arrival restriction altitude should be set correctly per the chart.
