I thought I would add to this thread as I’m unable to get Navigational data working properly.
Flight sim version - Flight Sim 2024 1.3.23.0
Aircraft - 2024 Vision Jet (also occurs in the 2020 version)
Navigraph AIRAC Cycle - 2502 rev.1
Issue - Waypoints are imported into the plan on the avionics, but not actually functional. The flight plan is one solid line from the origin to the destination. The path doesn’t change regardless of which waypoint I choose when I click activate leg to waypoint. There is no direction given to the path given by the hsi and the autopilot can’t follow it.
I’ve been reading the fixes and tried most of them I think. If anyone has any suggestions for a change in order or a missing step I’d be grateful. I did try uninstalling all Navigraph packages then re-installing navigraph before this. I don’t have any other third party add ons.
Goes without saying but closed the sim
Remove AIRAC cycle in Navigraph hub
Delete the contents XML from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Make sure that the “nav-base” and “nav-jepp” folders are gone from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Removed any navigraph folders from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes
Installed the AIRAC cycle through Navigraph hub
Imported the folders from navigraph-airac-order-hint.zip to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
How did you import the flight plan into the G3000? Using the SimBrief function in the Avionics plugin or using the EFB? I know you posted in Avionics Plugins but so have others who are using the EFB, so I am just making sure!
I noticed there was an update to the G3000/G5000 plug in. I’ve installed that. It didn’t resolve the issue.
I removed all the Navigraph plug ins
cleared the folders as above and the rolling cache
started then closed the sim, re-installed the plug ins
started the sim
Just to make sure I answered your questions:
“How did you import the flight plan into the G3000?” Click Simbrief, requested the flightplan, clicked import. I tried generating the plan via the efb and importing it and had the same issue.
“What other addons do you have installed?” Only those in the Navigraph hub. I do have the Fenix Airbus Active Sky and Beyond ATC but I don’t have them running at the time of testing.
As it’s working ok for you I’m going to try re-installing the sim.
I re-installed the sim, launched it and closed it.
Installed the latest airac cycle, G3000/G5000 2.02, EFB and EFB charts app.
Launched the sim.
Imported the flight plan through Simbrief > Request > Import. This time it worked.
Closed/launched the sim to confirm and it’s back to my original problem.
So with the new Airac cycle I thought I’d retry today. Here’s how it went
Updated Airac Cycle in Navigraph hub - Issue remained the same
Removed all add ons in Navigraph hub.
Cleared the files/folders listed and cleared the rolling cache.
Launched/closed the sim.
Installed Airac cycle 2503 rev1. Beta, Avionics Plugin G3000/G5000 2.02, Charts in game panel 8.6, EFB Charts App V1, Simbreif EFB App 1.
Launched the sim and retried - it worked as expected.
Closed/relaunched the sim - it worked as expected.
Restarted my computer and launched the sim - the problem is back.
Closed the sim.
Removed all Navigraph add ons.
Repeated the cleaning process.
Launched and closed the sim.
Installed the previously mentioned plug ins.
Launched the sim - Problem remains the same.
Thank you for the detailed reports! Sorry for the delay in responses.
All signs so far point to this being a result of the already-known issues with the order of navigation data (mentioned in at least 10 other topics in this forum), which we are still investigating. Apologies for the inconvenience!
In the meantime, please confirm whether or not you have tried importing the flight through one of our other options. Is the issue the same in all our addons? The following packages all provide their own import functionalities:
I see. Great, that would be much appreciated! If the issue is the same in all the add-ons, then it is very likely to be related to navigation data.
Others have had success in manually prioritizing the navigation data package through the developer menus inside the simulator and then restarting the simulator. That only works for one restart though, likely because MSFS 2024 has introduced a different system for package ordering that is currently half unknown to the ecosystem. Any package that does not adhere to the new specification may cause trouble - see this topic for a recent example.
Looking forward to seeing your results. Thank you for your patience!
Did you also try manually setting the order of our navigation data packages in the interface to see if that helps? navigraph-nav-base should be at the bottom and navigraph-nav-jepp should be at the top.
I went in to the package order and rearranged it as suggested. I also restarted the sim before trying again.
Now it just hangs on importing. While it’s stuck on Importing a flight path appears on the map from my origin to my destination only without waypoints. It doesn’t go any further.
I removed all the addons in Navigraph hub, joined Sim Update 2 Beta, re-installed them.
This seems to have worked. I’ve restarted the sim and my computer twice and it seems to have stayed working…for now.
The release of SU2 included improvements to how the simulator handles packages that do not follow the specification. In addition, our AIRAC is now considered stable, and we do not expect any issues while using it.
Are you still seeing this problem on your side, or did it never show up again?
We’re happy to hear that you are no longer affected! I will mark this topic as solved, but don’t hesitate to open a new topic if the issue appears again!
