VHHX IGS 13 G/S Antenna Position

Just asking, i’m not quiet sure if this is a bug or not. I found that the coordinate for the glidelope antenna of IGS 13 at Kai Tak is positioned on the right side of the PAPI for RWY 13. Is this correct? Because afaik from information that i gathered on the internet, the glideslope antenna supposed to be right at the checkerboard hill…

4 22.333908333 114.201911111 15 11190 18 31765.898 KL VHHX VH 13 IGS
6 22.319061111 114.198172222 15 11190 18 310085.898 KL VHHX VH 13 GS

I flew to Kai Tak two days ago and I think indeed the glideslope signal seems to be slightly off. My chart says at 1.7 NM DME, I should be at 680 feet, but when i flew yesterday, the glideslope was right at 680 feet when the DME read 1.3 NM.

This is the satellite image from 23 November 2000 at the glideslope antenna coordinate specified on the nav data:

It’s right where the right side PAPI placed.

According to this chart, the GP antenna was installed slightly to the northwest of the LLZ antenna:

G’day Christo, I will have a look at the tailored data and reply soon. I vaguely remember this was a toss up at the time and I went with the location in the FlyTampa scenery???

Just want to ask for clarification:

That’s the GP antenna isn’t it?

EDIT:

Found this from Facebook:

Also based on his description, the LLZ antenna should be around this coordinate: 22.33212500 114.18450500. The current coordinate for the LLZ on the nav data located around the apron area which pretty off from what he described on that comment.

Found this:

Kai Tak: Sitting on the Checkerboard

The first 35 seconds of the video perfectly solves the mystery of where the localizer antenna was.

It’s within this park:

Nice work Christo. I will work the changes and submit for future AIRAC inclusions.

G’day Christo, that video was like gold! I have worked out the correct coordinates and will send the updated file to Navigraph:

IGS antenna 22.335200 114.184178

LOC antenna 22.332333 114.185053

Received @stewamar, thank you very much. Great stuff … You are amazing. Thanks for all your work for the community, Mr. Tailored

Also, you, @chris22capt, for this valuable input. We will add the new information to our system, and you should expect the changes to be reflected in all datasets we offer with AIRAC 2604.

Thanks, guys - an excellent example of cooperation between two people, resulting in improvements for the community.

Well done

Cheers
