VHHH 25R DALO1F HH421 Causes the Sim to Freeze with PMDG 777F

Hello

So, I have come across a weird issue that I can reproduce 100% of the time when using the PMDG 777F. Whenever I try to input the V2 speed with a cost index applied at VHHH for 25R using the DALO1F Departure the sim will freeze every time, requiring closing the sim via task manager.
I have both the 777-300 and 777F, and this only occurs for the 777F. The issue seems to be with the very first waypoint after the runway which is HH421 because if I delete that waypoint the sim will not freeze. I have been in contact with PMDG support, and they were interested in what you guys though of this issue because it is definitely some type of performance calculation for VNAV that is causing the issue, but it is weird how a single waypoint could cause this. Also, I have tested that any SID that has HH421 as the first waypoint after the runway causes the sim to freeze when inputting a cost index value.

I should mention that this is on MSFS 2020 with the latest AIRAC version on Windows 11.

Thanks for any kind of help on this.

Hi Andrew,
First of all, thank you for the detailed report. Unfortunately, I don’t see any issue on our side. You wrote that it happens only with the 777F, but the 777-300 uses the same database. So, when this is related to navdata, you will see the same in all 777 versions.

I have also checked the HH421 waypoint. This waypoint is coded absolutely normally. So there is no special to the following waypoints also the leg path type.

Sorry, I can’t see what we can do here, even when this doesn’t happen with the nine freighter version.

Cheers
Richard

Thanks, Richard, for checking what you could. I just tried this same setup on a different PC and I was able to replicate the sim freeze just as I described above. So, it seems to be something with the VNAV calculation, I think. Again, thanks for looking into it.

No problem, Andy. I will contact PMDG to offer our help if we can. Sorry, I don´t have a better answer.

Have a nice day & thank you for your understanding
Richard
