IRL VFR Pilots, especially in Europe as far as I know, love to use Skydemon.
But, for an unlicensed, sim pilot, using this software additionally is maybe a leap too far, pricewise. Hence, my post, to turn towards you. Over the past years, I have been really happy to enjoy your features that got added. I have been using Navigraph for quite some years now, from back in P3D/FSX. One of the great things I love about skydemon, is that it would call out a certain airspace you’re about to enter. It would easily give you the frequency as well as far as I remember. Basically, you aren’t supposed to use this like a GPS, but I know for many pilots it is a great tool to either avoid airspace, or to know when to contact who. Furthermore, you are able by the Route you have plotted, to calculate your fuel consumption based on the cruise profile, winds, and so on. On Simbrief, this isn’t necessarily existing unless you fly IFR. The benefit of this, is that it would help simmers, who are interested in obtaining a PPL or any other kind of license, to learn to work with these kinds of tools, and how to calculate your fuel required + reserves + understanding airspace boundaries. The latter is great for when flying on VATSIM or any other pilot network that provides ATC services. Perhaps with a “VFR mode”? So that it can basically be toggled between the normal Navigraph as we know it, and the VFR tool you basically use from the planning office into the cockpit. I think it is a significant way to improve the overall VFR experience. While the currently existing Rogers VFR charts for Navigraph are great, they do sometimes feel a bit cluttered. I highly suggest you try out the Skydemon trial, to get a good image of what I mean. It can be used both in X-Plane and MSFS.
For MSFS it would need a tool afaik. Pilots in Belgium, UK, and other European countries are very familiar with this. I thank you in advance, and I appreciate what Navigraph has already become. And I look forward to what it will be even more, in the future.
