VFR Flight Planning Suggestion

Hello dear friend,

i really enjoy Navigraph, it gives me so much immersion for the money i pay. The last feature was a feature i always was dreaming, it was the VFR Map for EU/USA and also VFR Charts.

Today i thought, since we have a very good VFR map and charts, … How amazing would it be to add 360-degree navigation plotter and a Ruler, which i could show or hide, like the charts?

I have in real a 1:500 Chart and all that PPL stuff, but i have to switch my place from my pc desk to my kitchen etc. I would love to be able to make my VFR flight plan directly on Navigraph.

I think to add 360-degree navigation plotter and a Ruler isn’t that hard. As Bonus: you could also add the E6B Computer, but this may be maybe harder to implement. I already use such a tool online (Example), so it’s not necessary to be added, but would be nice to have it in one place together. You could also add a new page or tab for the flight plan for VFR as well. But thats not my request question.

Main Functions:

  • I click on the icon for the Ruler - i can draw a line (choose color)
  • If i want to get the course, i click on the icon for the Plotter, i move the Plotter with my mouse to the line i drew before (ie my waypoint) and can get my course
  • I want to get the distance - i open the Ruler and move it with my mouse to my line i draw, i adjust the angle to fit with the line and i can get the distance in NM.
  • I am done with my flight planning. Now i click on the icons to hide the Plotter and Ruler. But my waypoints or my lines will not disappear, because i want to fly now my route.
  • After my flight, i can remove my lines (waypoints) and clean my map.

What do you thing guys, is this a good idea to add a Plotter and a Ruler?

Thank you

As I read this, I recall the plotting chart features of some popular submarine simulator titles.

It would certainty be a QoL improvement for a possible future update for VFR planning.
